its probably just going to be a lot of S&T nonsense to set teams up with TPE and stuff.

Precisely what it’s all about:

In a would-be seven-team trade, there is an unprecedented amount of detail. Unfortunately, while a seven-team trade would make for a thrilling topic at a cocktail party, there haven’t been many unexpected developments in these negotiations. At least in the iterations of the deal discussed so far, most of the recognizable names are from trades that have already been agreed to and reported but not yet finalized.

The Hawks would be sending Clint Capela to the Rockets in what would become a sign-and-trade, league sources say. Durant would go to Houston. The previously reported return for him, including Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green, would go to Phoenix. Only five players who were in the NBA last season are being discussed in the current iteration of the trade, as of now: Durant, Brooks, Green, Clint Capela and Daeqwon Plowden, league sources say. The rest of the players being discussed are all from already-agreed-upon draft-night trades that are yet to be finalized and can't be until July 6.

I saw the name "Ben" mentioned in this thread.

No. Just no. You don't want that.

I would take Ben Simmons for the min. Can’t hurt I guess.

It would be intense watching him and Mitch on the floor and the other coach deciding if they should hack a Mitch or hack a ben

Eh . We will hear conflicting reports until we get a very clear yes or no where everyone is saying the same thing. I trust windy a whole lot more

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/281228/LeBron-James-Lakers-Began-Moving-Apart-With-Luka-Doncic-Trade

The door is most definitely open for it to happen.

And Lebron is most definitely better than Mikal, Hart and Robinson provided we replace Hart with a guy like Simmons and Robinson with a guy like Richards.

So in other words, Richards, Simmons Lebron is most definitely better than the other guys.

I don’t think he is better than those three.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people are freaking out.

First off, I'm not sure it's even really a thing. I think the reporting on stuff in the age of twitter and leaks and sources is not always in a linear timeline.
That maybe by the time a "reporter" gets wind of the fact (or leak from agent to drum up interest) it might have been a week ago. Meaning in this case, Knicks might have "reached out" to Ben Simmons at the same time as Yabusule, with dual intent. To let Yabasule's agent know they have multiple options, and also just in case some other team comes along and offers Yabasule 8 million per year and Yabu's agent is like "Thanks for drafting my totally raw French kid but that's 3 million more per year, later" and Knicks would have (maybe) then pivoted to Ben. Or Nance Jr. Who knows.

That paragraph aside, maybe the Knicks figure they can get a guy who'll barely play, but if OG goes down for 30+ games (an unfortunately highly likely scenario) then Ben is available to go from DNP-CD, to 10 mpg backing up OG's backup, who is now starting (Yabu, moar Deuce, Clarkson, however they decide to plug the spot)

Because what if Dadiet or McCullars are 100% not ready?

It's a flyer on 2 million of Dolan's dollars. He's not going to wreck the team. They aren't expecting major contributions.

I don't think that he can handle playing here mentally.

I'd take a punt on Ben for the vet min remaining. I mean, I kinda know there's no unrevealed upside of Ben. However the known knowns are good value enough.

I’d prefer Lonnie Walker or Boucher. Bum Simmons does nothing for me.

And it works because some dudes are way too easy to rile up

Ragebait sells, and for whatever reason, there's an extremely vocal amount of Knicks fans who still haven't gotten over LeBron rejecting them in 2010, and will rush to click on anything speculating LeBron to the Knicks now so they can reject him in their minds

Cause they're just weird like that.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

Again you were not around 2010 so this conversation is not for you. Go back to watching amime or look up stats.

Who is the next shiny FA to obsess over that we can't afford anyway after Simmons signs somewhere else?

Return to New York Knicks
