^ Melo ain't a bitch. If Denver is going to steal 20 mill from him and try to force him to go where THEY want or let him suffer the consequences, cutting off their nose to spite their face... specifically stopping him from getting his money and going wwhere he wants to go, knowing Denver could get a good deal from us - I don't see him giving in to that... If he isn't as high on the Knicks and low on the Nets as we think, maybe..... but if it's Denver giving him that ultimatum he's gota tell them to screw off and make them blink or allow them to suffer the consequences..

He'd be a lot happier forcing his way to where he'll be the happiest and what he wants to do than the few extra million he'll get by being handled by his team.

Put yourself in Melo shoes. He wants to win now and not get into a rebuilding process which the Nets are doing. I came up with a couple of reasons why he wouldn't Choose the Nets.

-There not making the playoffs this year, They have one of the worst records in the league.

-There still going to be in NJ next year, and Melo isn't getting younger by the Min. He has said that its all about winning a championship. He's not gong to waist a year of his life and go through the same thing next year as he would this year.

-IF the Nets get Carmelo. Their roster would have a starting five of.
Billups, Vujacic, Melo, Humphries, Lopez. Thats putting him in even a WORST scenario that he is in now. he's not dumb for approving that.

-He wouldn't like Avery Johnson, Melo hardly plays defense and thats what Avery coaches.

-I personally dont think Melo would do that to NY, he has to many Family and friends in the NY area such as people from Hot 97, 105.1, MTV (LALA), and also our own Amare. Lets not forget Melo's relationship with Mike D'antoni.

The Net would probably get their meeting, but unless Carmelo is really stupid and is just doing it out of spite. He wont go to NJ, He wouldn't do that to NY. Yes he is only 27 But Amare is 28. Both of those guys are in their prime and playing the best basketball. Im sure Amare communicates with Melo on a daily basis. BUT if we loose melo to the Nets, then there WILL be a whole bunch of Chaos in NY. I DOUGHT the Knicks would let their Cross-Town rival get the player that wants to come to NY. Thats of course, if they screw this up.

MyPrediction- Melo will be a knick by WED, wont play until the Cleveland game. And Then WE head to Miami to kick some ass on TNT =)

According to ESPN, Denver doesn't want to do a deal with New Jersey because they can't find a taker for Troy Murphy's' contract. So if they can't find one, no deal.

Of course it is. That's why it's fun. Plus, it doesn't help that between Lebronathon and the Melodrama, we are knee deep in teenagers on this board.

On top of that, this is a reporter who admitted he has a bias against the Knicks, and who has shown a proclivity for fabricating stories.

So, I think in this case, we can let it slide.

I know how bad Proky wants to stick it to us but I wish he'd just come out and say....wait, he did already.
And what ever happened to the part that Melo would not even consider going to NJ w/out some legit help (a la Rip)?
Now Troy Murphy is the hold up?
Look back a few threads before the 3-way with Detoit collapsed. I "predicted" the deal would fall apart because of something insignificant like Johan Petro being upset about the deal.
This is equally as bad.
These guys really think Isiah is still the GM here huh?
I honestly wish I had GONYK's confidence in thinking they will definitely move him but these clowns are so inept that we can't predict what's gonna happen here. I really see them holding onto him until the summer.

Well if that is the case with Wojnarowski then okay. I never have seen him personally show bias in his articles (besides LeBron) but I will take your word for it since he's already done it with LeBron.
