45 wins? Is that really what we're shooting for here?

Seriously, I think some fans here have been brainwashed to think that 45 win season is OK and getting spanked out of the playoffs is ok as well. It doesn't seem like its all about the chip anymore. With Lin = NO CHIP!. Without Lin = NO CHIP! This team is doomed to mediocrity for the next 3 years either way.

But we should make the moves that give us the best chance at winning a title.

I agree we should keep Lin, but this whole cluster **** of a situation, could have been avoided, by just sucking it up and signing Lin without all this "drama" and using the same trade to get a SG instead of an overweight less than mediocre PG, who feels that being fat is the way to be the best player he can be. People are all over Kurt Thomas's nuts here, but the dude averaged 3ppg and 3.5rpg last year, and he'll be 41 during the season. This is our back up PF. Its just so pathetic that people are arguing whether we'll be a 45 win team. Who the **** cares if we win 45 games... 48 games... or 42 games... we are no closer to a chip than we were last year. That's what is so frustrating.

I don't think that would be a problem here. It's pretty much a given that he'll be high on the sh*t list if he takes all that money and ends up sucking.

Stephen A. Smith is going to blast Lin for every single mistake he makes in every single game next season and the listeners/callers will be eating it up.

That's nonsense, Landry always got his touches and didn't know what to do with them. Pump fake, drive, pump fake, pump fake, pass.

The dynamic would have been fine if he could hit a jumper

If I had a dollar for every fact that ESPN has gotten wrong regarding the Lin situation over the past few days, I could buy myself a nice new guitar or something.

But I'd probably just end up buying a big bag of bath salts, because listening to these schmoes get even the big details completely wrong makes me want to chew someone's face off.

You could probably pay Lin's lux tax.

I dont mind Felton. I'm not gonna lie, I'd prefer Lin, but if we had to roll with Felton then so be it, its still a god team that will compete.

My only probelm is I still believe Lin is not good enough for the money he would get. If he came back, he should get the same pressure Melo gets from the fans. And if he doesn't produce, he better get heckled just like Melo does.

You don't think he will be after seeing the media sh*t on Lin constantly through this whole debacle?

Honestly, not so sure. The media was bad on Lin, but he was still a sensation so I didn't see it as being to bad.

Melo gets nothing but sh*t. Except that one month where he went off, Melo has been the scapegoat of everything just because he went looking for more money.

Lin to me is like Melo 2.0 in this situation. He should get the same pressure, ESPECIALLY if he plays like sh*t. I think he will though.

Why did he sign a contract HE knew the knicks would have a hard time matching? You guys act like the knicks are the lakers or celtics when infact they are more like the east coast clippers. They are what they are, slightly over 500, barely making the playoffs and getting blown out in the first round.

Fields can go to hell.

It's Melo's fault that Fields couldn't hit any damn jumpers huh? I guess it's also Melo's fault he couldn't hit FTs either.

The Knicks don't actually have a hard time matching. People were talking 2 years of 5 million followed by 2 years of 15 million each at the start of free agency.
