Toronto insisting on a first since proposed trade not only sends Lowry to NYK but sticks Raps w/Felton's longer-term $. Let's see who bends

He has a plan, his plan is to get Lowry without giving up a pick & then trade Shump if necessary for someone else.

Don't set yourself up for disappointment. we cannot get lowry without trading them something of value.

Waking up to a 74 page thread on Lowry, I knew there must have been talk of a pick being involved.

people are complaining about the pick like its going to be lebron james

its either a pick 4.5 years from now, Shumpert, or THJr

there is no reason for Toronto to trade otherwise

you would rather give up on Shump and THJr for a mystery asset that is almost 5 years away? LOL

Felton's deal doesn't mean much. Knicks will extend Lowry anyway, using 2015 cap room.

You must have some solid sources.

No common sense says so. I've been asking this for an hour now. Who will be our PG if Lowry walks? No cap space and no picks.

in terms of making an impact? how about that. lowry doesnt turn us into some wrecking ball of a team. hes either slightly better than felton at everything or about the same. please dont make lowry out to be a top or even good starter.

Slightly better than Felton is all we need. We were a 54 win team with Felton last year. If Lowry can actually guard the PG position well, while providing the same then our celling is a lot higher.

ive come to accept last year as an aberration...an outlier that we should not basing our projections for this season on. we lived/died by the three. lowry on last year's team wouldnt have made us a championship team and it sure as hell wont make us a contending team this year. our season is, at best, going to end in the second round. unless every player on the heat / pacers gets hurt.

this team gets better instantly when tyson comes back. also, you have to figure that jr and everyone else wont continue to shoot **** percentages. everything should, in theory, revert back to the mean.

you seem confused

hes averaged that for the past 4 years

wait did you read the link you posted and what i wrote? I said a FULL season and aside from this season since its only 20 games in. You stated "over the last 4 years"..lets discuss. Throw out this season since its not done, 1/4 years down. last yr over 68 gms he avg 11 pts, 2/4 down. Year before that was a lockout yr and thusly gets thrown out since i directly said FULL season, 3/4 out. Leaving us with the 2010-11 season where, GASP, he averaged close to the numbers you spoke of and GASP, that team did not make the playoffs! GASP!! Cmon son...

Felton hasnt played a full season either since 2009 he shoots 32% from 3 averages 5-6 ast and 3 boards with atrocious defense

yes Lowry is a huge upgrade, he is better across the board

all that gasping got u lightheaded u cant think straight hold on to ur breath and use ur noodle next time

mmkay, you got the juice now fella! clever retort! last time i'll try this..nvr argued felton was better. I actually think lowry is slightly better than ray. Nvr even mentioned rays stats because I know he hasn't played a full season and is playing like crap this yr. All i said was lowry has not averaged what you say he has averaged over a full season. The closest he got was in the 10-11 season where his team failed to make the playoffs. Other than that yr's stats, lowry has been more or less the same as ray. I'm not advocating for felton, simply sayin to stop over rating lowry. Now if you still would like to believe that lowry is SOOOOOOOOOO much better than ray, can't help you there.

What balls? Do you think we are getting Lowry straight up for Felton and MWP ?? So Toronto going to take on two worse players and add salary? We have to give up Shump, THjr or a pick to get Lowry.

Good, high quality post that makes a ton of sense.

A first round pick is worthless if it is 5 years away. And hell, it wont be "LeBron James" so why is anyone worried? Draft picks are overrated anyway. I'd rather have mediocre PG's as short-term stop-gaps to try and save a lost season with a terrible coach so our best player doesn't leave this offseason.

Look I like THJ but when its all said and done, I dont think he will be top 5 in this draft class. Right now hes on a hot streak with shooting... ive watched a bunch of his games in college and he has those streaks but he also has streaks where he goes SUPER cold and when that happens you just wanna bang your head cause hes prrtty useless on the defensive side. On the orher hand, god knows, 2018 we might be terrible with a 35 year old Melo, and I have a good feeling we will regret it, just like the last time 739524 unprotected picks Isiah has traded away in the past

Wait, you thinking THJ for freaking Lowry is a good deal?

Nope. I just think its less worse than continuing our long history of trading future unprotected picks like candy and then regretting it later.

Shumpert's done here no matter what anyway. He's getting moved at some point.

I don't think it's crazy at all. We have depth at the 2 and I'd rather hold onto 2018 in case the bottom drops on this team after this season. Shumpert hasn't progressed, is nearing the end of his rookie deal, is coming off an ACL injury, and I actually fear he will suffer another serious injury again in the near future.

Now you are getting it. Once you start thinking like how the Knicks actually function instead of a fantasy land rebuilding model that will never happen you will be a lot happier with life.
