Skill literally means the ability to do something well or a particular ability. Moving fast a.k.a speed is a skill.

Moving fast well doesn't make sense. What does well entail in that sentence?

You can dribble well. You can shoot well. You can't move fast well. Can you move slow well?

Moving fast is an ability, it's not a skill.

I just said the definition of skill is "a particular ability." Your disputes of the word's proper usage is all semantics because you're frustrated over no Melo news lol.

No one really knows until we see him on the court. It's an impossible question to answer. All we know is that his potential seems to be: Billips/J Holliday/George Hill. Beyond that, we're all guessing.

Hey man, I'm not disputing anything or how you get your info.

Over the years, we've had lots of interesting characters with even more interesting sources with cryptic or straight up direct news.

We've had talking clams, player's underwear, crazy sugar daddies named carl, and a time traveller. Personally, I love this crazy shyt. So I'm glad you're bringing some news. Makes my work day interesting, especially since Imma 'bout to get fired for being on RealGM all day since the draft

Haha so it seems. I'm not looking to be a source on here either - I don't talk to Dan like that, just shot him a text cause of the frenzy. I just wanna participate, I like the forum. Glad I found it. Although I spend way too much time on here at work.

did you just refer to your woman as "a solid 7?"

Lol shes an EX. Shes pretty but her body is pretty boring, ya know? She makes up for it in other ways

It's semantics but running fast isn't a skill, and those sentences proved it

He wanted out of Denver and wanted his max extension before the CBA expired. He would have gone to Brooklyn if we didn't trade for him. He said so himself. That's not wanting to be a Knick no matter what. That's about wanting his money and out of Denver.

He shopped himself in FA and teams didn't have enough. He almost went to **** but, Jackson didn't want the scraps they offered. Melo took a max with a NTC plus a kicker to stay. That's not wanting to be here no matter what. That's wanting money.

He forced a bidding war to come here. That made it more difficult to build around. He didn't want to play in the system that was ALREADY here. We switched direction. He was gonna leave and then, left nothing on the table to add another star. Got his max (with the NTC and Kicker). Again, making it hard to build around him. He wanted to win now but, didn't help that cause EVER.

Let's appreciate what he can do as a player. Let's admit the team made several mistakes since the trade that sabotaged efforts to win. Let's not worship Melo for things that simply are not true. Other than SAYING he wants to win here, his actions have shown that was NOT his priority. Then he wanted a buyout. This team and its fans have NEVER been a priority. Just a means to get paid handsomely.

Melo wanted to be a New York Knick and always did. Yes he wanted out of Denver and might have accepted going to Brooklyn but don't think he would of signed an extension with Brooklyn and would of went to the Knicks after that year.

You're willing to believe that doesn't mean it's true. His actions have shown it is not. He was getting out of Denver AND signing the max deal before the CBA expired. Fearing he was gonna lose money. Getting traded was ALL ABOUT THE MAX. He was not going to wait until FA. It was months away. He didn't need a trade in order to become a Knick. He needed it to get out of Denver AND get his max deal.

These are his actions and his words. None of them point to him truly wanting to play here or, even win here, as his demands made that difficult to do. BOTH times he got his max. He expected the TEAM to magically make it happen. He sacrificed nothing to get here or stay here. Then he wanted to be paid to leave? What part of any of this means he wanted to be a Knick? None.

Believe what you want but everyone (but you) knows he always wanted to be a New York Knick. Can't figure out how any Knicks fan wouldn't know this.

Hate to break it to you but he's right. Melo was very willing to go to Brooklyn. Brooklyn had a lot of hype at that time. Melo wanted to live in the city. At the end of the day, he probably preferred the Knicks but he would have taken whichever deal got done first. He didn't care if it was Manhattan or Brooklyn.

There is a difference between Talent and Skill. Having the ability to run Fast is not Skill. Its Talent.

Remind me again why Frank isnt a stud point guard? Really want to understand your logic when he hasnt even played a game in the US yet

Fair enough... but remind me why he IS?

I don't know...could be that he took his team to a championship for his under 16 pro team and then again for his 18 pro team where he dropped 31. Might be because we don't know anything concrete about him and the last time I doubted the guys we drafted or undrafted players we brought in, I looked rather foolish. After seeing how KP, Will, Ron, etc.... have turned out I'm willing to think the same thing. He has all the intangibles so I'll remain excited about drafting him and hope for the best instead of expecting the worst for once.

Need I remind you, everyone was on Mudiays nuts when he was drafted especially when he had a great showing during summer league and went off. We bashed our own guy in KP for being a euro. We all know how that turned out.....

Semantics much?

So silly. Something can be talent and a skill. Speed is one of them. What is the difference? Someone says speed and vision are two of Nkitlina's skills and the problem with that is that they aren't actually skills?

ughhh Why?

Talent is your innate ability to do something. It is your natural ability which is inborn. Skill is a learnt ability. It is acquired or developed after you put in a lot of time and hard work.

In order to give an analysis, you need sample size. We just don't have it. Online, there's a limited number of games. We don't even know the size of those players. Also, we have no benchmark to go off of. If he played AAU, High School and NCAA, we would have seen him regularly against other prospects. Then, we'd have an idea of how his speed/height/first step really stack up. Against the compeition he's playing, I'm sure they're very good, but, we don't know them. We have no clue about their measurables.

So, to put it another way, it's like looking at a picture and being like, "Wow" that"s a big burrito. Then, you put a quarter next to it and realize it's not that big. We need a benchmark in order to know.
