I think he'll stay because the Lakers are still the NBA's premier brand, and that seems like the whole motivation for AD in pushing so hard to go there.

That said, he's probably going to opt out next summer and a bunch of teams will think they have a shot at signing him, Knicks included.

AD with what the Knicks have at present, even assuming a great draft next summer isn't winning in the East. Still behind Milwaukee, Philly, Nets (good God), maybe even Boston.

I disagree, AD with NYK would be in the conversation with those other teams. The problem would be the overlap with Randle and Mitch. We would probably make trades to make the fit better and upgrade at another position. Maybe for Bradley Beal?

Very high probability Mitch goes in AD trade and Randle doesn’t get signed with AD here.

Just woke up to the news, I think it's great, no lakers super team and the east gets weaker, what's not to love

AD looks like LeBron's bitch in all of this.

Yeah I like it from that perspective as well. It is a little troubling how much control players wield and how flaky they can be.

Makes sense Dolan wants to trade for another star nobody wants to come play with due to their playing style.

Clippers in the end get what the Lakers had hoped for in PG/Kawhi a year ago.

And Lakers left in the dust with 3 players on their roster and most of the good depth pieces signed up already.

East looking kinda trash again. Bucks and Sixers I guess but both those teams are ultimately flawed in the postseason unless their star players evolve.

I hate how arrogant Lakers and Lebron can be so I’m pretty happy with this part.

We can totally sneak in the 8th seed if we don't blow leads like we did all last year.

His agent had to get one of his clients to force his way over to play with him.

Look at what LA is doing now and this is what would've happened if we waited for KL. 70 Mil in cap and all role players of any sort of value running to LA and we'd be stuck with nothing being mocked all over again. What the KD and KL signings showed is that players want to go to winners or at least those close to it. Not no 17 win team. Another tanking year wouldn't have done much for us in terms of having guys want to run here. Hopefully this year we see some forward progression. East is pretty open.

I would question what AD will do next since, let's be honest, the Lakers making the playoffs is no real guarantee. That said,he's so tied to Rich Paul and LeBron, he's staying put. Next year will be interesting.

Nah he wanted to go to the Clips and he wanted a star to come with him.
He thought it’d be Jimmy but Jimmy just wants to be D-Wade. He tried to convince Durant. Now he gets his star

That Mavs pick is looking pretty good right now, things changed but I dont see the Mavs making the playoffs until after we get their 21 pick.

Who did we get that was special? Aside from Randle, everyone we got are just role players. And we paid a lot for them. The only good thing about our deals are that they have team options for next year. But other than that Bullock, Ellington, and Gibson are nothing to write home about. Payton has been available for years. Perry ended up wanting to bring his pet project from Orlando here.
