First time watching Wemby for an entire game. Against the absolute scrubs big men Lakers have.

He is not there yet. People only judge by the highlights. He is not a top 10 player rn.

Shambolic performance by Wemby. I dont get excited by one great game so shouldnt be too critical after a bad one, but boy against Lakers with their worst defensive bigs in the league, 5/13, only 8 boards, only 1 block, 5 TO and fouling out???

Always liked the blazers since they gave melo a real shot when he was at a low point in the league.

They have a tough young core with some intense team defense being played right now. They keep the same energy all season they won’t be easy out for anyone.

Now that Luka is with Lakers I don't see how he is not winning the MVP this year. The only better players than him already have multiple(including finals mvp). I think +400 is a charity.

It's interesting how he could be in Los Angeles but there are much less expectations for him.

I think the issue was expecting him to post AD-type numbers because he had the potential for it and was a #1 pick. Phoenix desperately needed that from him to win a championship. So when Ayton could not give them that, Ayton got the blame.

For Portland, things worked out for them because Camara came in the deal with Ayton, and now Camara is their starting power forward. Ayton's numbers regressed with Portland, and Ayton wasn't going to ever make them a playoff team as a 1st or 2nd best player.

With the Lakers, Ayton doesn't need to give them much else than what he is giving them. He is averaging 18 and 8, but he could be giving them 14 and 7 and that's better than any big they've had the last 25 years other than Shaq, Pau, Odom, Bynum, Dwight, and AD.

Most important players on the Lakers are Luka, LeBron, and Reaves. After them, it's a mix of Hachimura, LaRavia, and Ayton.

Smart has been a pleasant surprise for them too. The threes aren't falling, but he's defending at an elite level.

Lakers have definitely improved since last season. They should be more ready for the playoffs this time around. The reasons why they got beat by the Timberwolves were Luka being out of shape (unable to dominate) and lack of depth. They've fixed both by improving internally and making key additions.

Knicks/Lakers 2026 Finals let's goooooo
