Re: [Camelo Thread Part 7]
Stern should contract the Nuggets for being the worst and dumbest run franchise in the history of the NBA.
Harris, Favors, Morrow, 2 1st round picks????
No other team is going to offer anything better than that including us!.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 7]
My take on things.
1.) Denver will wait until deadline to make sure Nets suck as much as possible (get that draft pick better).
2.) At that time, they will try to get Melo on board to go to NJ.
3.) If Melo does not agree to extension
a.) Nets act out of desperation and trade anyway hoping Melo changes his mind
b.) Nets backs out
If Nets back out, Denver talks
a.) to non-NYK or NYJ teams (teams willing to rent Melo)
b.) to NYK
c.) nobody (waits until summer to do a sign-and-trade while trying to get healthy and make a run)
Ultimately, I believe Denver trades him to NJ without a extension where the Nets try desperately to convince Melo to re-up with them.
In the end, Melo holds out and the Nets are left with no Melo and lose a crapload in the trade to Denver. The Russian puts a hit out on Melo.

We heard from Melo. Check out Christ Tommason's (sp?) twitter.
He basically said that he hasn't talked to anyone about trade to Nets. He will meet with Denver FO soon, not sure if he would sign extension with Nets. Doesn't think that there will be a trade this week or knows a timetable. He thinks Knicks don't want him.

It's a PR move to show they are trying and Melo is the bad guy hence all the booing.

Thanks guys, surely Melo knows we want him, i'd be staggered if he thought otherwise.

Melo using reverse psychology and of course he hasn't talked to anyone about a trade, that's the agent's job

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 7]
Melo's comments that he's not sure the Knicks want him are a bit disconcerting.
Either he took Frank Isola's dumb article as true -- ie. the one claiming that Amar'e wants to be the man and doesn't want Melo in NY...OR
He's hoping that his statements get NY to ante up, cause his agent and Denver are probably feeding him BS that Knicks aren't really interested and aren't willing to give up assets like NJ are.
All in all though, I'm getting more worried that Melo will eventually settle on NJ if NY doesn't come up to bat. If coming to the Knicks were his priority over the extension, he would've just come out and flat out said that he ain't signing anything unless it's with NY. But we're 4 months in, and he has yet to flat out reject NJ's advances, and as long as NJ keeps thinking they have a shot, they'll keep trying.
And there's no way we're beating NJ's package, so if Melo really wants to come to NY, he has to just come out and demand to be traded here. None of this waffling bullchit.

and NY hasnt, thats the point
in the summer, it was you (being DEN) can have ONE of gallo/AR ...nothing on fields
then it became, you can have BOTH Gallo and AR, but not fields
Melo has waited 5 months, and NY cant even decide who they wanted to offer, his patience can only run so long

Can we stop pretending this is happening because NY hasn't "come to bat"? Denver is the one who won't engage us in talks

The thing is, even if Donnie offered up the entire farm (Gallo, Chandler, Fields), we're still not beating a Net package that consists of Favors, lottery picks, and luxury tax relief. And I wouldn't gut the team for Melo anyway.
Melo has to realize that if he wants to be a Knick, he has to JUST SAY NO to NJ. Otherwise this crap is going to go on till the deadline.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 7]
I actually believe that he thinks the Knicks dont want him. I think Amar'e or anyone of the Knicks for that matter sees that we only really need 2 pieces.. someone Like Iguadala to Defend and be a good SG, and get a Center to be Contendors..
Everyone knows that if we get Carmelo via free agency we cant use our MLE to get a Center and we cant resign Chandler.
Tough situation for Melo, i hope he knows we do want him here.. I just think Donnie Walsh is maybe thinking of other options after seeing this team.

#1 denver never wanted to trade Melo in the summer
#2 your examples were those of suggestions from realgm
#3 there have been no chatter of ANY OFFICIAL offer made by donnie through rumors or leaks or whatever

I knew no matter how many people would post or dig up sources and say that DEN doesnt want to deal with NYK you'd still come here and spin this ****.

Please, you will blame Donnie for anything. How can he decide what to pony up if Denver won't come to the table to negotiate? You want Donnie to bid against himself?
