Hard to see KD just become sloppy and a shell of himself. I know some of you want to see this just so you can have Internet clout and be like “I told you so”.

Your favorite player for example is probably second to MJ in assholeness.

Perhaps, but I'm talking about the ones who announce a year in advance that they won't be taking anything less than maximum dollars.
Announcing "I want to get paid" has nothing to do with the ahole aspect of being a fierce competitor. It's the dick move of another self-absorbed, entitled diva.

At least the others are in possession of both Achilles tendons, in full working order.
This the Knicks, not St Lukes Hospital.

Tired of this sh*t that the only draw in NYC is some kind of Merchant\Banker tie in.
Just fold the f*cking Knicks already and create The JPMorganChase Bankerballers.
They can use their own name for their own Arena. I dunno, let them buy MSG and tear out all the seats and fill it with luxury boxes only for corporate clients. Set up a hedge fund in one corner where players can short some company during timeouts.
Like, just get it over with and get to the point.
As long as they are playing and giving their best, I don't see an issue with motive, although in this day, a player doesn't have to play for the Knicks to gain any business advantage. To be honest, there has never been a time where that mattered, if it did the team would have had plenty of players flocking here. We've had a few, which isnt bad while being bad for so long.
Yea, agreed. I dont care if Buisness plays a part in the decision as long as they are committed to basketball. In the end it is a buisness as well for both player and team. KD seems like the type that wants to compete and win so i dont think he signs here unless he really wants to play for the knicks.

He does. Even though I knew he'd take alot of heat for going to GS, it wasn't like he was going there to be Chris Bosh. He was going to be their best player and he played as such during his entire time there.

Hell no, I would love to see KD come back 100% even if it's not the Knicks. Never wish injuries on anybody and especially seeing somebody get robbed of what they love to do and especially when it's one of the greatest the league has ever seen. That doesn't erase the reality of it though. You look at at least a whole year of recovery, then when he does come back we are talking about minute restrictions and sitting out games especially back to backs. I mean what's the point? By year 3 he's gonna be 33 years old and still uncertainties about how many minutes he can play and rest and all that. Might as well just wait until his supermax expires from the other team that signs him then sign him for cheaper in 4-5 years instead of wasting it on him now. He's not gonna take us anywhere in the next 3 years that's for sure.

If he does feel he was done dirty by GS then even pure greed will have a hard time winning out over other offers.

Re: Offseason Thread: Sunday Funday can't come fast enough
Most disastrous scenario in FA for the Knicks is:
Signing KD for 40 million and no one else.
That's an epically bad move, akin to bad Knicks moves of the past. Note the word "akin". Similar, not the same.
It gets better if KD brings along Kyrie
It get awesome if KD brings in Kawhi
By itself? Bad.
One angle is KD's agent, Rick K, wants FO input. Which, if KD was PLAYING, and still an elite star when he returns (very much in doubt), then fine.
What, now KD and Rich will be calling shots while KD rehabs his knee and explores business ventures? I don't think that's a good idea.
