Woodson already just anointed Lin the starting PG

how can 2 days later Knicks go from "he's starting" to "we're not matching" ???

unfortunately things change.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

It's very, very disconcerting that the guy who broke the news says Felton told him, specifically, the Lin deal is off. Hopefully that's what we told Felton, then we do a flip-flop after he signs and match Lin, also.

Why can't we sign Lin because of this? The media is overhyping it. I believe we'll match Lin and have awesome depth. It's a good move regardless.

It doesn't make sense to sign Felton and Lin when we just signed to veteran PG's...

the writing is on the wall

D'Antoni must be going nuts. Less than a year after he leaves: Kidd, Prigoni, Felton, Lin.

Apparently Felton is Zeke in his prime. He is proven and unstoppable in the playoffs. LOL. The more I think about it makes no sense that Felton means we are not matching Lin. No sense under absolutely any rubric. The man was hot garbage last season.

I won't believe Dolan is dumb enough not to match Lin until I see it finalized with my own eyes and if that's happen, I will fully believe in the Ewing curse...

I'm thinking POR probably did it to move Kurt to a contender to finish his career.

Thats the crazy part about all this, we havent even got it yet

Yeah, it's downright crazy. We can't match it if we dont have it.

According to the summer league reporters, Houston has been trying to get it to the Knicks but Grunwald is hiding from them. Evidently it has now been sent and officially received at Knicks HQ in NY.

I think you all are in denial, why sign felton to a 3mil a year deal unless Lin is gone with the his QO?

We have one healthy SG with NBA experience on our roster. One of our guards is in his late 30s. Melo is going to play a lot at the 4 which means that our one healthy SG is going to play a lot at the 3. There are no good SGs available in our price range.

The last 4 statements are facts.

Look at those 4 facts and tell me why it wouldn't make sense that we are matching Lin?

Man very emotional bunch here

Let's see how things play out the next few days. The Knicks still may match Lin (nobody knows what's going on in the front office right now). If they do then we are stacked with assets and have a very deep squad. If they don't, I'm still comfortable with the team that has been assembled. With all the scoring potential on the squad we need facilitators at PG not scorers.

kidd is old, he cant handle the PGs, he can stay with the SGs

kidd plays more SG, with JR the 2 backup

lin and felton hold down the PG spot

-that is my read on things
-and if lin indeed leaves, there will be a non money reason involved

A voice of reason

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT
Kidd is 39. Lin is unproven over full season. Is it unreasonable to think NY would sign Felton as mere insurance, not as Lin replacement?
