No one has ever mentioned this, or given a sh*t about this, for years. Suddenly, after the Nets built a practice facility into their arena, MSG is "horrible" because the Knicks practices facility is "so far away" in Westchester.

Oh my heavens, but where will the basketball players live?

I don't know. Maybe in Westchester, for the onerous commute into the city of 30-45 minutes, for HALF the year, the ones that millions of people in the tri-state area take every day. Well, the ones that don't have commutes of 1 to 1.5 hours.

It's amazing how the press eat up and regurgitate this Nets propaganda. As if the commute into Brooklyn might not take roughly 30 minutes, for the upper east or upper west side, IF a player wanted to live in those parts of Manhattan, as opposed to living in Brooklyn or Soho or Tribeca.

I'm saying having the practice facility right there doesn't have some appeal, but it's funny how the Nets are attempting to over blow this fact and the presses willingness to go along.

It's just silly.

If it's a real issue among the players, it should be addressed. I'm sure Dolan has got the money and resources to get a spot in the city.

But honestly. I'm not even sure how big of an issue it is. Or if it could actually be a problem.

Like... what if the Knicks had their practice facility in Manhattan? I can honestly see people will start saying it is an issue for the team and players. Being right there in a high traffic city means:

1) Fans will stalk them
2) The media and press will stalk them
3) Players might get distracted
4) It will encourage players to live in the city which can be a distraction

It might work for the Nets because they are irrelevant and nobody will pay them any mind.

Just for fun, I did the LA Laker's practice facility (El Segundo) to the Staples Center. It's about a 36 minute commute, and I don't think that is including LA traffic.
