Would people prefer Jeffries at C? Or pay $6mil for Turiaf and still get killed on the boards?

Its not like we are paying for something that is nice to have. We are paying for something that is a MUST to win a championship. Next to Amare its a MUST that we have a defensive C. Someone that can protect the paint, rebound, do the dirty work. And he can finish like a champ.

We paid a high price. But we got the 2nd best defensive C in the league. And if Paul isn't coming, there's nothing better we could spend it on. Not when we most likely wouldnt have max dough available.

I remember when we were all making fun of him when he was an embarrassment on the Bobcats. It's funny how contract years works.

Sooo... once we get Tyson, would we be officially a Bruiser ball team? I'm really getting excited about this. I remember watching a lot of close games lost because of our lack of interior presence. Once we get our point sorted out... man... Im really amped about this season. Finally have a big man roaming the paint that can re/scare layuppers. Sure, we're still thin, but I like the foundation.

Also, with this move, how does Jefferies value change? Does he go up, being that D'Antoni wont have to rely on him to play Center for long spells?

If we get one year similar to one of these we are not making any noise in the playoffs.

If I'm a coach all you have to do to beat the Knicks is lockdown the perimeter and we are cooked.

Dude wasn't even considered chopped liver 2 years ago when OKC didn't want to sign him for FREE basically. He has a good year with Dallas behind 2 HOFers, and now he's a top tier center? I dont get it either, I just know Dolan and isiah pull the strings around here

Exactly. Seriously, this fanbase is obsessed with being cheap now. How much do you think a Defensive player of the year runner up should make? not the MLE.

If obtaining Chandler means having Billups amnestied, I can't agree with the move. It's one thing that it'd leave use without a proven point guard, but I think the biggest issue is that it would be a waste of our amnesty option.

I'm actually in favor of holding onto our amnesty option as an insurance policy against Amare's health. I have tons of respect for what he's accomplished for us; but if his knees give out, his contract will be an albatross.

It will be a sign and trade. We won't be needing an amnesty option for Amare this year.

When healthy with NOH he was actually pretty damn nice, his foot was just always messed up. The only reason he didn't go to OKC is because of the physical, not because of anything else. They made the effort to trade for him for a reason.

I mean Chandler is no Jerome James, no Ronny Turiaf dude does have legit talent and does make an impact on the game. I mean on paper it's hard to think of a better and realistic fit next to Amar'e.

I rather hold on to the amnesty in case chandler breaks down or really doesn't live up to his contract.

It seems as if kids want to jump into a time machine and go back to 1994... like they either miss it or missed out on something. Those days are long gone... name me one team that is as physical as the 90's Knicks or the 80's Pistons.

Memphis almost beat OKC by playing tight on the perimeter. You can build a great defensive team by shutting down the perimeter or by playing strong man to man defense. Ibaka is a great weakside shotblocker and Dirk shred him to bits because he couldn't guard man to man.

Chandler looked good playing next to Dirk,Kidd,Terry,Marion etc... we don't have that foundation in NY. We've got a guy who's only played under one coach and besides last year one PG. This team will look bad early on... the offense will be melo iso'ing and stat barreling. It's not going to work. Give me 2 guys who put up 5 and 5 for 5 million combined over chandler for 14.5 all day any day.

So now that the deal is mostly done, we can get down to what's really important - complaining about it.

It should be noted that he was injury riddled those seasons. You cant tell by how many games he played.

what a horrible signing

to blow your cap space w/out knowing what happens with dwight, paul, AND deron is just reckless

is chandler a good plan B? perhaps, but plan A door was not shut

NY jumped early on this one
