A young Michael Jordan wouldn't have helped the OKC Thunder do much better against the Miami Heat, especially without another top 10 player. Remember that before Pippen arrived to the Bulls they had difficulty getting out of the first round with Michael Jordan.
This debate is laughable. You clearly haven't seen Michael Jordan play. I REMEMBER that Celtics game where he single handidly almost beat the prime Celtics team with Bird, Mchale and co. and dropped 63 on them.
I'm sorry, but Durant doesn't come close to that. If Jordan played with today's ticky-tack foul rules, he average 20 fts per game.
I'm going to puke now. Please stop this "how go was Jordan" debate on the Knicks board. Its embarrassing to all of us who had to live through the 90s.
Am not surprised to see all of the love that Michael Jordan receives on this board. I know many Knicks fans who used to be closet Bulls fans in the 90's. Wouldn't shock me to find out that some of the people that defend him so much started liking the Knicks after Jordan's second retirement.
What makes me puke is how for years Patrick Ewing got disrespected by people who claim to be Knicks fans and till this day still doesn't get the appreciation he deserves yet they're Knicks fans who cheer for Michael Jordan whenever he visits Madison Square Garden and defend him like if he pays their car insurance.
I've probably watched Michael Jordan play a lot more than the casual Bulls fan who only watched basketball in the years that he was winning championships. Is it a taboo to say that I am not sold that this guy was the best player to ever put on an NBA uniform? Or that I think that there are players in the NBA today that are just as talented as he was?
Am not disputing that he was one of the best to ever play the game. He was the best player in the 90's but I believe that had their been more players at the shooting guard and small forward position who were at his level talent wise he would not have won those 6 championships.
Older fans who've watched more than one generation of basketball seem to undermine the current generation in favor of the previous one. Today's NBA might have different rules and as a result is less physical than the NBA of the 90's but to say that a guy like Kobe Bryant or Lebron James in their prime would have not won championships in the 90's is just absurd.
