That’s actually a pretty good Twitter thread. Each clip shows what type of potential Sexton has. His defense needs a lot of work though. His passing was more impressive than I thought. My measuring stick is Elfrid Payton and he would be a huge upgrade. Still don’t want to include Obi.

If the trade is confirmed, will it be announced as soon as possible or will we have to wait for the draft night to heard the news?
The league likes to announce trades for picks in the draft night.

I think we would see some news on an agreement with it being made official come draft night.

Individual defensive rating is a worthless stat. It's based off team defensive rating. Shocker that one of the worst teams in the league starting a tiny backcourt struggled defensively. Boozer had an elite defensive rating when he was on the bulls for example and he was an awful defender.

Elfrid Payton cannot be the measuring stick. The measuring stick has to be 2022. Will this kid be a max impact player by next summer.

You can find any one better than Payton. Can you find a kid who is better than his peers and guards 4 to 5 years ahead of him.

Fair point but it was more tongue in cheek. Elf was the worst starting PG in the league last year. I’m just saying he would do much better than the garbage play we got from Elf.

I wouldn’t max him out though, see if a bargain can be made.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, several teams are interested in signing Nerlens Noel this off-season:

Mavs are among teams expected to have interest in free agent C Nerlens Noel, per league sources. Nets are also expected to have Noel on radar, depending on how offseason plays out/money available to them. TOR & CHA also expected to have interest in Noel, as

Go get the bag Nerlens, wherever that is.

A few have mentioned not wanting to give up assets better saved for a Lillard or Lavine move, without acknowledging that Sexton then becomes that asset. Yes, you gave up assets, but if the new one has more value, then you haven't weakened your position to make more moves, you've improved it.

The new one might not have more value because he carries s bigger price tag and is a far more known quantity. Knox is salary relief. Obi is selling hope as are the draft picks. Sexton is an expensive player who may not outperform his contract.

Noel passed up major money in Dallas; he shouldn't make that mistake again. Take the money and run - whatever they're willing to give you.

Analysis from a Cavs journalist who says, and I quote, “He’s just not a point guard.” And he’s not a good defender.

It's a distraction... Rose and Co will sign Lowry and Hart to team friendly deals, resign Rose to one as well and draft a bigger combo guard with very good PG skills.

They aren't going to overpay in a trade for a guy they'll need to max out immediately when that player isn't a real 'star' and they aren't going to give a FA max money when they aren't one either.

This FO is too smart to let themselves be forced into a corner for players that think they are a star but are just guys who put up big stats on bad teams.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.
