The most frustrating thing is I understand why we do the switching. It works out well when we have players like Jeffries, Chandler, and Shump that even when they are mis-matched can still play defense and if we switch early in the shot-clock when a team goes to set a pick later in the shot-clock and we switch on the pick we will no longer be in a mis-match. This is a great strategy if you plan to play successful defense for the whole 24 seconds of the possession. Terrible defense if you cannot stop the initial play, which we struggle to do.
Woodson is coaching the defense like Josh Smith is still on his roster, we have no Josh SMith. Jeffries is the closest thing we have to someone who can defend any position on the court, and he is no Josh Smith.
Lawson will smoke us, further cementing his status as a top 10 PG in the league. And this isn't even accounting for Andre Miller who has no business being a bench player in this league, he should be starting, he should be starting here god damn-it if we just had kept Felton. I wonder if the front office knew we could have Andre Miller for Felton if they would have included the PG swap in the trade?
Somehow Gallo will get credit for Ty Lawson being amazing, mass bannings ensue over the pining over a 17 and 5 player ignoring the fact that Denver is where they are right now because of Ty Lawson and because of the Felton for Miller swap on draft night. The 10 deep strategy didn't work for them against OKC because Felton is a terrible point guard at running an offense, now they have 2 great playmakers who can run any offensive set and it's nightmare for opposing teams.
RIP Jared Jeffries. Gone but never forgotten...2006-2012
