Prolly can't help too much. Not re-signing Lin might be as much a 'f*ck you' to Morey as to Lin.

It hurts them. It could potentially kill them. Asik and Lin on their roster would kill them.

I'm thinking that's more what this is about. Dolan is probably a lot more pissed at Morey, and Lin could be collateral damage.

I think he's more pissed at Lin's Agent and LIn as a result...

Dolan was going to match an offer that was going to put him far into the luxury tax and then Lin went and had the offer upped. Do you really want a player on our team who knowingly accepted an offer that he knew would create a HUGE problem for the team his rights are owned by? I'm sorry that you all want Lin but he obviously doesn't want you.

You're making too much sense in this thread. Be careful!

He wouldn't play in the playoffs at 85% and he would't play with the Team USA select team. Now he's not playing in our summer league. It's pretty clear what Lin's interests are. $$

I think that's all speculation by Berman at this point.

Not completely unfounded, given Dolan's history. But still, speculation.

wow, people still believe Berman?

Its funny seeing people use a Berman article and running with it like it is fact. Even George Bush wouldnt get fooled by Berman that many times

i think people would rather believe conspiracy theory's , then have to consider somebody might not want to play here.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

I used the word 'speculation' for a reason - because Berman is speculating.

you answered my question. I was commentating on the other posters on this forum running with Bermans nonsense as if it is a fact, not to you

This. I don't blame Dolan for being ticked about this. It is a business though, and Dolan has to realize this.

For all this hoopla, and the simple fact that, at least for a few Days, We're the top story over Dwight, The question is....Are we more of a Championship team today than we were yesterday? Will We be better if we brought Lin back? Cause I think at the end of the day, those are the questions that management is asking themselves and the reasoning behind whatever they do with Lin...

My personal opinion is you just don't let a young, immensely popular player like this just walk without any compensation. This kid just fell out of the sky, a gift from the basketball gods. If you match, he can't be traded until Dec. 15. Can't deal him to Houston until next summer. But these will be a market for him regardless. Just my opinion, but letting him walk for nothing is hard for me to understand.

Edit: This is how I feel as well.

I feel as though I'm becoming increasingly enraged at Lin not playing in the playoffs. Somebody talk me out of it.

I'm wondering with all this speculation out, why won't Lin or his agent say something about it?

It would be fairly easy to set the story straight.

Is it just me or do the Knicks just get continually assf*ucked whenever we have to deal with Morey and Houston? I'm honestly sick of this BS....

Criticism of Dolan has always been he values huge profits over winning basketball. Now he actually makes a basketball decision to forsake the cash-cow for the veteran PG with a huge sample size of being an NBA quality player in exchange for the turnover machine who averaged 4.7 turnovers per game as a starting guard.

And people think if we had Lin in the playoffs we would have had more success? Yea because turnovers against the Heat really work out well. Say what you want about Felton. He's fat, whatever, but he has posted a 2:1 A:T every single season.

Melo on Lin saga: "It's not up to me. It's up to the organization to say that they want to match that ridiculous contract."

Wow. What a quote from Melo.
