Raptos' Jonas Valanciunas is a European rookie, and he was one of the best foul drawers in the league. He is far from earning star calls, yet he gets calls. If he couldn't he wouldn't be nearly as good and efficient as he is.

Like, there are people in this thread that want to trade Tyson Chandler for Eric Gordon, but wouldn't trade Amare and Novak for Rudy Gay and Bargs?

This makes absolutely zero sense to me.

Rudy can't do neither.

Gordon averages 3 assists and 36% from 3 on his career.

Rudy Gay averages 2 assists and 34% from 3 on his career.

And your point about Rudy shooting less rendering him useless is wrong too. He wouldn't shoot less, he would shoot closer like he did in '11-12 when Zach was injured. Rudy got to the rim more than he ever has in his career when Zach was on the shelf. Why? Because instead of Zach posting up, Mareese Speights spaced the floor for Rudy and allowed him to drive.

If Mareese Speights could space the floor for Rudy, what could Melo do for his game? His game has always boiled down to reducing his mid-range jumpers and Melo being on the floor with a bevy of shooters surrounding would allow Rudy to be a slasher.

Melo gets his same touches while other guys touches diminish so that Rudy can attack the rim instead of role players standing outside jacking up bricks. Rudy Gay sucks at everything outside of finishing at the rim and occasional defensive splash plays. He also doesn't attempt nearly as many shots at the rim as he should. Which is why he is the least efficient 20 point scorer this league has seen in a long time. Also why he never gets to the FT line. He takes a bunch of long 2s and 3 pointers that he sucks at.

His only positive is defense and dunking. We're already paying someone the max who is useless at everything besides defense and dunking. I'd rather not have 2.

Rudy Gay is basically the only player paid near the max that is worse than Amare. I'd rather have Amare for 30 games than Gay for 82.


And for Bargs the only deal I would do is built around Novak, Kidd, and White. Which only works if Earl Barron has the same contract type that Dan Gadz was signed to last season.


If you think JR Smith is a good player, then you have a right to want Gay here. It just means you're delusional. If you don't think JR Smith is a good player and you would take Gay here, you should re-evaluate things.

It's time to take risks. We've seen where we got with 30 game Amar'e. Lead to us losing in the 2nd round.
Trading Amare wouldn't ruin chemistry either because Amare never had time to get fully worked in to the team's rhythm.
Don't see a problem doing an Amar'e & Camby for Gay & Bargnani. Would have an option to go big or small(per-say).
