Jonah Ballow ‏@jonahballow 8m8 minutes ago

Stoudemire out tonight (recovery). Fisher says, “Making sure he is healthy for the balance of the season.” #Knicks

Marc Berman ‏@NYPost_Berman 7m7 minutes ago Manhattan, NY

Jason Smith is starting at the 4 but Fisher said he was doing that anyway despite Stoudemire.

i want to congratulate derek fisher. no coach has reached this level of insanity so early into his knick career before. i mean, it even took larry brown awhile before he started recognizing player's home cities. you have killed my enthusiasm during the 2nd week of november. again, congratulations.

Must win ga.......you know what, just don't get blown out. At this point this season is lost and I have lost faith in this team getting to the playoffs. This team looks worse than last years team...if that is even possible.

A similar dynamic drives countries that are in a lot of trouble to get behind insane dictators. When all else fails, try something that has no chance of working but will at least let you go out with a bang.

I don't think there's any way that Phil is pushing these buttons. Derek is flying solo and becoming incoherent. The Knicks, they do it to everybody. Take your K, Fish.

Nothing surprises me but this seems like a long shot. His season high is 11 points.

he's really losing it. he was worried about defending their frontcourt, so he puts the absolute worst defender at the 4 to start. the worst defender, mind you, on a team that has amare and tim hardaway jr. do you know how hard it is to achieve that ? and yet, jason smith has.

On resting Amar'e Stoudemire tonight, Derek Fisher says "we hope that it gives us an opportunity to have him 70-plus nights."

wouldn't it have made more sense to rest him on one of the 300 back to backs we have ? i swear i don't understand a thing he does

I guess it'd have been optimistic to think he could hit the ground running. He's experimenting and trying to get his feel for the game and roster. If the team was good, he'd at least be .500 despite his lack of experience. I don't think a great coach could make the team a winner, but maybe let them get within striking distance of .500 (which I don't think we'll be by February).

Still nothing is as impossible to understand as switching.

actually i understood the switching more. the philosophy behind switching is is simply that it would be better to be caught in a mismatch then give up an open shot. while the results weren't great, at least there was a philosophy. i have no idea what the f*ck fisher is thinking about.

Just heard Clyde on with Kay and Lagrecca (and you) and he's still amazed that there hasn't been a team meeting during this losing streak. Says it's indicative of a lack of leadership. I guess $125 million doesn't go as far as it used to. (snicker, snicker).
