Phil Jackson has FAILED..!

He knew the Knicks was not going to be an easy fix... but his one goal was to instill a positive culture...

Currently the locker room is an absolute disaster. Rose is a moody little baby, the handling of the Carmelo situation has been atrocious, and now there is even a rift between the Knicks organization and its most valuable player (Kristaps Porzingis).

I want to add... when we're talking strictly about players to blame.. Rose is neck and neck with Melo. Horrible fit. You couldn't find another duo in the league that are less willing to share, and I want Rose to leave, with or without Melo.

But this is what's so perplexing to me- Rose is a former MVP. Has had much playoff success as the PG and leader of a really good Bulls team. And Melo is supposedly a great player. Self-proclaimed top 14 player in the league. How could they not figure this out?

And this is why I'm the most disappointed in Melo. Rose was thrown into the situation and is a known introvert. Melo is the guy with the NTC and the commitment to the Knicks. He's the guy who "wants dat!"

He's the big star of New York. No?

So even if the team is poorly constructed, shouldn't we be talking about something other than Melo not sharing the ball or Melo not defending? If this guy was such a big deal and worth all this trouble, some effort in both of those categories would be a given, and he doesn't have to be LeBron to play that way either.

I just think you're dealing with someone who is declining fast, has always played a me-first style of ball, and now that his star is fading and the fans are clamoring for KP, and management is taking the team in a different direction, and everyone all together has stopped pampering Melo like they have for the last 6 years in NY, he's becoming very insecure, and it's a volatile situation.

He's gotta go and I'm so glad he's going. That said, I'm glad he helped us tank both years we had a draft pick since he re-signed. If that wasn't Phil stealth-tanking and stealth-rebuilding, it was the basketball Gods throwing us a bone.

The more basketball KP plays the better. You can run out of energy 30 games next season like you've done the past 2 years. So I'm definitely behind him playing on the national team and taking up boxing. Evening when I was running 10 miles a day boxing would wear me out in like 5 minutes. Also think it's interesting that he feels plays too upright. Kinda fits with him being "too tall" for the game.

phil might trade him. he said phil made some mistakes. phil can't take that. he's a little bitch that way. he started criticizing melo after melo said that phil shouldn't talk about lebron. phil only likes people who kiss his ass at all times.

He might - but he better bring back full value. No more of these moronic addition-by-subtraction transactions (Chandler, JR-Shumpert, etc.). He and Mills have yet to show me that have any idea of how to make a good deal. Given that Porzingas has franchise talent potential, we need to getting back a package worthy of that kind of player - or else Phil should light up and head back to Montana now.

If we take into account all things that happened during and especially at the end of the season in NY, did you talk about anything regarding playing in NT with them? What are their stance?


Kris: To be honest, about the season.. and what happened at the end of it. I don't want to comment it right now..

Myself, I didn't personally talk to anyone, I think this is the better question for Janis.

Janis: I think its mostly his decision now. Yea, in first couple of years in the league, you aren't in the position to dictate what you want/gonna do.. But for Kristaps.. I think he is now in position - where he can.


Were there a lot of moments when you were frustrated that you didn't get the ball?

Kristaps tries to answer, but Janis interrupts him.

Janis: Nah, Kristaps doesn't do that. We as brothers were pretty emotional, though.

Kristaps: Yeah, there was a time when we played on the road, and my family was together watching the game in my apartment, and someone got pretty hot, and broke the TV. *looking at Janis*

Question to Janis. Kristaps already talked a bit about his season in NY. What is your view on it?

Janis: I think it was great. His stats were up. If we consider the team he played on, I think he did great.

Other player were ready for him this year, did some homework. Remember those put-back dunks he had his rookie year, now everyone was just facing him, looking into the eyes, and didn't even allow him to get to the basket. There was a lot more focus on him.

But again, we went through a bunch of video already, and saw the things he needs to work on. And he knows those himself.

He is able to work alone, he knows the moves he needs to work on, so after that its about practice and repeating them again and again after you get better.

Overall it was a good year. OF course, mentally it was a bit tougher, when you lose so much, everyone started to look a bit lethargic. But he played alright even in the last games, did what he was supposed to do, of course there were bad game too, but that happens.

Did NY say anything specific about what you should improve in your game?

Kris: I'am in touch with one coach from NY. ANd our minds are pretty much in the same place, in regard of what should I do in the summer.

Phil Just opted in another 2 years with the team. Do you think you will be in NY while you are on your rookie deal?

Kris: To be honest I don't know much about the deal. How many years I have left? Its a better question to Janis I think.

Janis: This isn't a very appropriate question. Kris still has a deal with NY, he was drafter there, and he wants to spend his career there. End of story.

Is Janis his Agent/Brother? I could see him being a big problem. Just look at these answers from him.

He said 1) now that he's in his 3rd year he can be more vocal, 2) that KP knows what he has to work on to get better, 3) this year was tough because of the losing but he still played well in spite of that, and 4) he wants to spend his career in NY, period.

What did he say that was so bad? Everything he said was good in my opinion.

Good thing Janis is also his trainer. All I'm saying is Phil better watch out. Janis knows all.

"We understand that he doesn't have to be bigger," Janis says. "Whoever thinks differently, let them think that. But he's a different player. He's going to be just stronger -- all of his body will be a little stronger -- but he won't have the [significant increase in] weight. He will still be around 240. And he's going to be like that for a long time I think. Maybe 245, but that's about it."

That might upset those who think Kristaps should develop into a hulking Dwight Howard-type. But Janis believes keeping his youngest brother at a manageable weight will help him impact both sides of the floor by changing shots at the rim and rebounding.

"The heavier he will be, the more difficult it's going to be for him to do that. We just need explosiveness and strength," says Janis, who played professionally in Europe for 10 years. "We don't really need muscle mass. He's a guard in a big man's body. That's what he really is. We kind of look at what he has and try to work on that -- not try to make him into something else."
