NVM I seen that trash

He's trying to get out in front of it. Melo aint doing anything until Paul makes a move and LeBron decides what he wants done.

Cavs have players like Frye, shump, smith and Jefferson to move to a third team who may well have assets for us

For example Portland wants to dump salary
Detroit wants to add vets who can stretch the floor and lead

Ny will take picks and young players

That's the only way it works. I wanted a Cleveland trade during the season just to see what Melo could do on a winner, but now I only want picks.

Knicks and Clips have prob been talking since last summer. I am sure they have the 'parameters' in place. I just hope atleast 1 future 1st rounder is involved. Whether Melo is willing to accept moving is a different story. Regardless, It would be dumb of Phil to make a deal before finding out what Lebron is willing to offer.

That's the only way it works. I wanted a Cleveland trade during the season just to see what Melo could do on a winner, but now I only want picks.

As well as clev played last night and as many layups as Gs missed and turnovers they had it was still a laugher

The league is a mess

Clev is so much better than anyone in the east it isn't close

And they could potentially get swept in the finals

It's an arms race

There are two superpowers and everyone else is kidding themselves

We need to position ourselves for 4-6 years ahead
Part of that is exploiting win now situations like clev or clips and nabbing picks from them when they will be bad.
Part of it is being clever and not misstepping a single pick
Part of it is keeping or adding vets who fit the style. Like koq, thomas and lee. Noah should be easy to hold onto, lol.

If we can maintain cap freedom while adding picks we will be headed in the right direction.

Harkless works.
Stanley Johnson works
Even bobby Jackson works

But turner is too poor a contract and no player in clev fits here at all.

Three or four team deals are really the way this can and should happen

I'd be interested to see what adding Melo would do for CLE this series. GST is in another world right now. But you never know what happens when LBJ gets some home cooking.

I don't think anyone will be interested in Shump or JR. Frye is valuable as an expiring only and Jefferson contract is too small. I don't think there is a trade available between Cavs and the Knicks unless they want Noah.

Unless they traded Love which I doubt they would consider.

you're not getting me

Frye and Smith to Det and Jefferson and Shump to Portland
Melo to Clev
Det pick, Reggie Jackson and Stanley Johnson and Port pick and Crabbe to NY

for example

Det gets 2 players that help them now as they said they wanted and they get rid of jackson's contract. they dont want Johnson anymore apparently

Portland moves Crabbe - or make it Turner if need be - and it costs them the #15th pick
they dont have to give a 2nd pick because they take on the 2 years remaining of Shumps smaller deal

NY gets a starting PG that Phil wanted, Stanley Johnson who might be nice, Crabbe or Turner depending, and most importantly we get the #8, #12 and #15 picks in this draft

we either pick several players or we package up with Phx or someone

Watching this series, really there is nothing that Melo could do better than Love for Cleveland to consider this. Melo won't improve defense, ball movement or rebounding. Cleveland doesn't need his isolations either.

Carlos Douglas Jr.: A confidant of Jimmy Butler says one available star player that JB wouldn’t mind the #Bulls going after is #Knicks F Carmelo Anthony.

Always thought this made sense with Wade opting in.
This deal would need to involve Rondo however.. not sure how the Bulls feel about him. I know Wade/Butler disliked him during the season, but he was a baller those first 2 games vs the Celtics.

Didn't Melo want Rondo in NY?

So perhaps they will want to hold on to him and form a big 4 of Rondo, Wade, JB and Melo.

Extremely difficult salaries work without Rondo or Lopez in the deal. I would think Bulls would want to keep Lopez.
