While Summer league is a good way to generally assess players, it often can be deceiving to treat it as a future indicator of player success.
The main mantra of summer league is "showing out." It's been the case forever. Being in Vegas motivates more players to show out than in Orlando or Utah where there just isn't that crowd or television coverage to be motivated.
Therefore, guards who have a scoring mentality have always seemed to have an edge somewhat in summer league. In 2008, Jerryd Bayless ended up being MVP and DJ Augustin was not too far behind. Likewise, Nate Robinson's jersey is hanging somewhere in the Thomas And Mack Center.
If you also remember, Danilo Gallinari only played one summer league game due to a bad back. He probably has had a better career than many of those who played in summer league that year.
Even a Porzingis naturally had a bit of difficulty in summer league. However, a guy like hardaway or Galloway or Early had better performances.
For team-oriented type of guys, summer league just doesn't cut it. Also, the Orlando Summer League didn't have the greatest of talent in the team rosters. Our roster wasn't that great either.
In the end, I think Frank will be fine even though he didn't step a foot in summer league. Monk didn't either and Fultz played part of 1 game

Anthony Randolph dominated summer league, Jerryd Bayless dominated summer league, Kris Dunn dominated summer league his rookie season.
And look at his rookie season now, summer league is garbage.

And Chasson Randle, Derrick Williams, and Maurice Out'dour all looked like keepers in summer league.

We dont see or hear abour him in the SL in France ! and i often see him in the team's projection in other topics so I was just wondering
Based on Smitty's report it sounds like he does have good tools. I could see a team like the Spurs trading us a top 55 protected 2nd for him and cash. Nets would also be an ideal fit to sign him to a 2-way.
I gotta say he is by far the shortest 6'10'' player I have ever seen. His profile says stretch 4/5. His presence on the court makes him look like a SF that can't play. Think Lance Thomas body, Robin Lopez game.
From what i saw in the SL last yr with the Knicks, he seemed less lost, and he had a very good year with Paris named 6th man of the year averaging 10pts, 9reb, 1ass, 1bl at 60% shooting in a league FAR FAR FAR better than NCAA or G-League.
I think G-League is harder for overseas player when they're used to play an unselfish, slower and less physical bball when US players are use to and prepare for that.
Big man who could shoot was the target from Europe in the NBA before, but NBA has changed and everybody has to shoot long distance ! But i believe that Labeyrie can bring something good in the NBA !

honestly, he looks like a lesser and older version of Ndour out there... I agree his style may not be conducive for summer league/dleague but I can't say I see him producing much at the NBA level. At best he is an energy guy and a solid 5 fouls from the PF position.

Another Dennis Smith Jr. game coming on now... would have been nice to see Frank play in summer league.
