- 22:05 knicks letting fans know this season isn't about wins and losses but growing pains, building character. it's also awesome knowing the fans have bought in.

- 40:15 sorry haters but it seems like the front office LOVES kanter and his leadership, it's not too far fetch to think he's brought back. it could really be a match made in heaven. kanter loves new york, front office loves him, and centers like him are being phased out from the nba ... he could be brought back cheap and be an offensive punch with thj off the bench.

45:40 mills dropped the "kanter for life" it's in. you know it, embrace the smile and the hairline.
and as always, mitch should be attached to the kanters hip and learn his footwork.

they're saying the right things. i'm becoming a fan of fizdale, it seems like he knows his job isn't to win but to develop. if the wins come that's gravy. imagine being a coach and being told it's okay if the team sucks, just develop them? this season will be super stress free for fizdale.

opposing fans should be scared, i fully anticipate trolling to be in the extreme levels because the know kp/frank/knox/mitch/'19 top 5 pick + kyrie irving puts the knicks back on the map.

I label this post negatively positive

I think Fiz was saying Frank grew an inch and a half making him 6'5.5" BAREFOOT. Which equates to 6'7" in sneakers.

Exactly. It's the old "height taken in socks/barefoot vs with sneakers". And to belabor a point I make often, it seems like in Europe, the tendency is to measure players barefoot, while in in North America, the tendency seems to give measurables that include sneakers.

It's why when Frank was listed as "6'4.5/5", he LOOKED the same as the college guys drafted listed as 6'6"/6.7". It's because effectively they were the same height.

agreed, for example if you sign Kyrie and Durant tells you if you clear another max FA spot I will 100% sign with you. The only way to clear that 2nd max is a team is requesting a 1st round pick to take on THjr contract. You move the 1st round pick to sign Durant.

Also they keep talking about not "skipping steps" well lets see, because development as well as not trading 1st round picks is another process in, not skipping steps. So I better not see Lee and Lance chewing up 25-30 minutes a night while young players with an actual future on the squad ride the bench just because they give you a better chance to win now.

That is something I will be keeping an eye on all year...talking process and not skipping steps but running Kanter/Lance/Lee out there for amajor minutes would be the opposite of development in my eyes.

I can tell you right now he was trying to say they won’t trade them wildly. Also disagree with your point about Kanter and Lee. Kanter is probably our best overall player right now on paper. That is asking a lot for a guy like Mitch to surpass him and he didn’t even play in college. Mitch will have growing pains but saying we better not see Kanter don’t make sense to me.

Lee can be in that same discussion because behind Hardaway there isn’t a better SG than him (on paper) no matter how old he is if we’re a competitive in camp I doubt Lee is playing like trash compared to the younger guys who he had experience over. With that said I would love to see all the young guys get burn but not if we are just handing it to them. If someone plays better than Kanter great, if someone plays better better than Lee great. The highest possibility is Mitch going off because he actually has talent. Roll the ball out who want it. No hand outs.

Again if we could throw all the young guys out and see what they can do great. I wish that was the case but Kanter is young (although not the youngest) and legit on the offensive side of the ball where we need a lot of help. I hope the young guys emerge.

also I'm not saying don't play the vets. I don't see where you got that idea. But playing them a majority of minutes also makes no sense. They also keep talking about setting a defensive presence you simply can't do that with Kanter on the floor...sorry. He's going to play a decent amount I totally get that. But if we ever want to change the defensive footprint of the team we need to start limiting his minutes...he's that atrocious on that side of the ball.

What irritated me about Steve Mills’ “Amen” was the BS “We’re not taking short cuts...” but he vastly overpaid for Tim Hardaway Jr affecting the Knicks’ cap maneuverability even before the GM was signed.

Secondly, this sell “the Knicks are perceived differently...” I find that highly unconvincing.
NO ONE embarassed the Knicks more than Isiah Thomas’ $40M sexual harassment settlement with A. Brown Sanders.
Not only did Dolan allow Isiah to KEEP his job, he re-hired him to run the wNBA team from the background. You know how many NBA players cried foul over that? None. The Knicks allowed a Sexual Predator to run the team into the ground...and yet, re-hire him? Every one is ok with that!?!? Same owner treated Charles Oakley like Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop.

Here’s the SCARY part, Steve Mills was around for every embarrassing moment.

But it’s different now...

Donnie Walsh almost had me. The way he moved Anthony Randolph and almost undid all the damage Isiah did...then he panicked and the rest is history.

Then Phil Jackson.

Again, Steve-O Mills was there for it ALL...only owner James Dolan has been around longer.

That brings me to something I feel was left unsaid: Steve Mills was in agreement with Phil Jackson about putting floaters out there for trade value of Porzingis. It wouldn’t surprise me if Porzingis was traded in a deal with Dallas. Say DSJr + Future 1st Rounder and as many second rounders for GM “Tyler Perry” to play with.

Yeah Mills would bite..

There's just something dishonest about Steve Mills. He strikes me as the kind of guy who has a built-in scape goat with every misstep.

But there's NO DENYING the $$$$$$ in outbidding for Tim Hardaway Jr's services a rookie mistake. I will patiently wait till Tim's contract to see if Mills is man enough to admit that mistake.

IF...the Knicks are in no rush to compete. :nonono:

The "believe it when I see it" mentality is warranted around here for sure. So far...the talk has been consistent. No short cuts. Player development. No senseless trades of 1st rd picks. We can only hope next summer isn't a replay of past bad FA spending. We also have to hope a few reclamation projects prove worth. We need to see just how good the talent/draft evaluation really is...along with just how good at player development this coaching staff really is.

2 weeks from now we get our first look at what this team is about. I am looking forward to it. So far, the talk is good. It's only a matter of time until we find out if they can walk the after they talk the talk. We have a promising young group here. A promising young coach. A promising GM. All on the same page. It could be a great new beginning here that is decades overdue. It could also be a bunch of hot air. We will know soon enough.

Let's go Knicks!

I agree with you !00%. I personally think he should be coming off the bench. However unless you want Mitch to get eaten alive we have to ease him in. I know its just basketball but these kids need to develop their body as well.

They appreciate his grit and leadership. Played after coming in on crutches, sets a good example. I would not mind Enes in his prime off the bench for very very cheap. And by cheap I mean like 5 Mil lol. He will get big money after displaying the 3 though.

Kanter will get a slight pass from me right now. So will a couple other guys like...Mud and even Timmy. I'm curious to see what Fiz can get out of them. Kanter is an MLE bench player IMO. I wouldn't mind keeping him as muscle and hustle off the bench. Spot starts if you need him. I'm also ok with trading him at the deadline If a good deal came up or, letting him walk.

Same with Hezonja. They spoke about both guys in the same context.
