He seems like a backup or fringe starter. Sorta like Monte Morris.

I like cooper just not as a starter let alone a starter on the Knicks. He’s a small high usg on ball point guard with a questionable jumper I do like his feel for the game though. He would be a good backup next to Quickley and take some pressure off him.

His quickness won't be special, but his shooting should be top tier...and unlike a Cam Thomas, who also has the shooting, Butler has the handle + vision to become a quality starter for a team with other playmakers (like us). He has a lot of the same things going for him that IQ did as a prospect, only his arms aren't as long and he has a much more developed/polished floor-general-game :dontknow:

I think Monte Morris would be a quality starter for us too. I wasn’t trying to bash Butler. You know I like him a lot. He just might not have that upside as the other guards in the draft.

ESPN has him at #9 which is too high for me. his 6'1 listed height is generous, I saw he was listed at 5'10 w/o shoes

he's a great playmaker but PG's his size scare me

That's fair and heading into the season I was thinking of him as a mid-20s guy. But with the higher upside PG prospects (other than Suggs & Cade) having looked so raw, that's opened the door for a guy like Butler to play his way into that late lotto mix...especially if he leads Butler past Suggs' Gonzaga for the national title.

I have him & Keon Johnson as the 3rd best PG prospect I've watched this season...depending on whether you are looking for a 'swing for the fences' project who will need time to polish his game, or a safer pick that will make an impact for you quicker...though neither is in my top 10 overall.

I want to...as I do think there's a very real chance that he ends up better than Suggs in their primes, while making more of an impact than Mobley, but I'm not there yet. Suggs is just so much closer to reaching his potential while Mobley's ceiling is even higher...and until I get to watch the GL kids play in actual games, they get to hold onto their top 5 spots

I just bump Mobley ahead of Suggs, Ziaire ahead of JJ at #6, and have Moody over Bouknight at #8.

He’s gonna look a lot better in the pros with better spacing. Such a talented scorer

Man, Jared Butler would look so good in orange n blue. Kid is a crafty ass penetrator to go with the lethal 3ball.

He has shockingly short arms, either that or my aspect ratio on my screen is off.

He might be able to play a CP3 type game where the height won’t matter

He's not very long, but he is still a good defender despite having just a plus-1 wingspan.

Melo, I remember you and Chanel Bomber being high on Quickley last year... who's your top 10 right now along with a sleeper or two? Just curious...
