Is Kyle Wilson a "FAKE QB", to put it in Trumpian terminology. Sad.

I have no idea. The OLine is fawking terrible. Sacked five times today. Unreal

I didn't watch the game but there can be a lot of reasons for that like receivers not getting open, defenses confusing Wilson, Wilson making unforced mistakes. No running game either I take it? What about trying some screen passes, as long as the line is letting people by?

As an ex NFL lineman, Joe Douglas has brought the same acumen to solving the offensive line troubles as Isiah Thomas, a talented ex NBA player, did to solving the Knicks issues.

Here's a good breakdown for the first 2 weeks:

Key point is, a lot of the issues come from play action passes just not working the way they should, because the run game isn't as good as it should be, the line is missing assignments, and not utilizing players correctly (ie; using Tyler Kroft as a deep receiver when he doesn't have the speed to pull CBs, resulting in them sitting right in the throwing lanes)

It's the same thing down in Jacksonville. Rookie QBs gonna rookie, but the coaches aren't helping them one bit.

Thanks for the vid. Gotcha.

Man, that's a lot of things to fix. Do you think Wilson got thrown into the fire too early? Maybe it would've been wiser to have a Cade McCown type of vet to start the season in order to get the team all on the same page before handing it off (pun intended) to Wilson. This is the second rookie QB in a row that we've done this to.

all the rookie QB's look like ass I wouldn't worry too much just yet.

Fields looked horrendous 6/20 and sacked 9 times!!!

Lawerence has made some of the most questionable decisions I have seen so far.

The jets arent doing Wilson any favors with the offensive scheme. I saw one clip of 3 guys running the same crossing route.

I think Wilson will be okay but this is the same old Jets: weapons are among the worst in the league, no one gets separation, OL stinks, plenty of stupid penalties, D is solid but asked to do too much and gives up 3rd and longs like it's going out of style.

Crowder's return will help Wilson; he needs a reliable slot guy who can get open consistently. Wilson had the one nice drive in the 2nd where he took the quick short stuff and we moved the chains. His scramble and long throw to Davis down the left sideline was impressive but Davis couldn't win the battle.

I don't think there's a definitive answer

Some guys are great after sitting for a year or two, some guys are great right away, some guys who play right away suck for a bit then get better, some guys suck and never get better

But I think once you've made the decision, you gotta stick to it unless someone gets injured. Throwing a guy in for a few snaps at a time, or swapping starters trying to get wins isn't a good strategy. I'd say given the amount of pressure Wilson's been under and how much he's been sacked, you probably should have had a vet take those hits for a year, but as long as he doesn't get injured he should be fine.

He has, but he's gotten a lot better since week 1

Lot of it is him learning he can't get away with a lot of the stuff he could in college, same thing with Urban. That flea flicker today which was the only turnover that was really Trevor's fault, he should have just thrown it out of bounds, but at the same time, that was a dumb play call

The good news is, he's adjusting fairly quick. First 2 weeks he would always go for the deep ball (had the highest air yards per attempt of any QB besides Russell Wilson I think) and the highest percentage of throws over 15 yards in the air. This week he's going through his progressions more, taking the check down if that's all that's available instead of just chucking up a 50/50 ball. So there's some progress at least

And Urban finally remembered James Robinson exists for a drive. Jammed it down Arizona's throat, then Robinson stayed on the sideline for 2 straight drives after that so we could have Carlos Hyde run, who hasn't been terrible, but he's a clear step down

Trevor and Wilson both haven't really been good, and there's a reason both teams picked 1 and 2 last year, but both Urban and Saleh really aren't helping them out, either.

Wilson doesn't step into his throws, even when he has a good pocket. Leans back and the ball sails.

Not a good trait to have.

The Jets play the 2-1 Titans next Sunday and then the presently 1-2 Falcons in week 5. The seasons going to be over very soon if we don't pick up at least one of these wins. At 0-5, we're on the verge of losing the players and that's not good for a first year coach. Then again, maybe it just takes half a season for all of these new parts/coaches to come together. I guess it would help me understand better if I watched some games.

It's not Zach Wilson's fault. The oline is horrible and his WRs keep dropping passes. His comp% was 55% on Sunday, but his adjusted comp% factoring in drops was over 70%. He hasn't played well, but at the same time, his team isn't helping him at all. There are plays you have to make to help your rookie QB. When a pass hits you in the hands, you should catch it.

And yeah, I was in the "Keep Darnold and trade down the pick" camp, but we won't really know for a couple years whether it was the right call. This team has to get it together and it starts up front. The defense isn't bad, but the offense needs to be better than putrid. If not this team really needs to trade for an oline guy like Scherff or a good WR. Corey Davis drops too many passes. AVT hasn't been bad, but the C, RG & RT have been horrible.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:

Why was the Giants thread locked? I don't wanna read about the Jets, even though we're not much better.

there were too many threads clogging up the forum related to two sucky teams.

Neither teams deserves its own thread.

I really want Coach Saleh to get his first win out of the way but I fear a 4th straight loss is upon the Jets.

The undrafted QB Taysom Hill is a more physical runner than #2 overall pick RB Saquan Barkley.
