Thibodeau is only good for a veteran team ready to win a title. He was never the right coach for this franchise. We are nowhere near good enough to be playing vets over young players.

I remember quite a few people disagreeing with me when I said no way Thibs would start McBride or Quick if both Rose and Kemba went down, and that he was gonna start Burks

I feel a bit vindicated now, but it's still a dumb move. McBride is (theoretically) our best PG defender, and he's just gonna spot up on offense, to give Randle/Fournier/RJ more freedom to handle the ball. Not ideal for playoff ball, cause they'd hide Trae on him, but it's less of an issue in the regular season

You're betting on Burks being on tonight, which is like 50/50. If he's on, he can carry us, but if he's off, he'll sink us.

As a side note, I'm interested in seeing how that Doncic - Trae Young swap is working out. Trae is playing and elevating his team as much as Luka in Dallas.

But most importantly, it'll be interesting how have a better starting defender in Burks, will change the complection of that defense.

then why has rj started every game of his career when he clearly wasn't better than other players in most of them ?

RJ is number 3 pick, obviously there is an inherent status that comes with that…

Organizations place high draft picks higher in heirarachy than veterans if there’s a choice to made
