Underrated post on the first page of this thread. Incredible job by the Commish providing us with, and daily updating this playoff picture. I can speak for myself when I say it makes things much easier than having to sort through the standings.

Damn, Ben Simmons really does like fouling out a whole bunch doesn't he? I'm really banking on him to be the Elfrid Payton going forward after this year for us.

We collectively did not bully ribs enough for that Curry trade

7/4- The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade Steph Curry and Joe Ingles to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Nicolas Batum, Aleksej Pokuševski, Isaac Okoro, Josh Green, the #18 pick in the 2021 BaF draft (Ziaire Williams) and a 2022 1st round draft pick (From Orlando) (traded for Dyson Daniels).

NE is a legit threat since that trade...I think he was just trying something out with Zion at PG.

I don't think that worked out the way he intended it to but with his guards injuries my guess he wanted to test something out.

To be fair. The value at the time was basically 5 1st round picks. 3 of those guys were rookies and 2 future picks...and I was giving him $400 in cap space (since it was all small contracts and I created so much cap space the year prior with my buyouts not many teams could offer all that cap space). Curry was on a $475 expiring at the time. I def targeted expiring contracts using my draft capital and young controllable players to get really good players on 1 year deals because of the unknown of the league reset year where no one knew what FA would look like with so many teams basically having free reign to sign whoever.

More so then the trades. It was being able to bring back both Curry and Jokic in FA. I made the trades to win last year with basically Jokic and Curry potentially not coming back the next year. It was at worst a 1 year play...but turned into a multi year contention once I was able to bring both back.

I was half joking but I didnt love the value for ribs at the time, I think he underestimated how much value Curry had even if he was expiring... but as always it depends on what is actually offered and if there weren't any better offers out there then its hard to criticize :D

I had a usual lineup in my outbox all morning. Decided last minute to throw that one out there in the name of “just trying to see something”…It was a risky move and I’m happy to escape without another injury to one of my main guys. Already clinched and looking locked into the 4th seed, so I may just play my guys vs Western Conference teams going forward and let my reserves ride out the season. We’ll see…

Its always tough to get fair value when trading a star, unless one or two of those young players really takes a leap.

In terms of trading a star I think NE did a great job getting all that value for Embiid. He did trade him with 5 years of control which does enhance his value. The value I think I got in the deal was because Curry had only 1 year left and at that time we really only had 1 small offseason to see how "bird right" FA's were impacted in FA. We really didn't see the impact of what bird rights did until really the league reset year. We really saw the power of having those rights did.

Yeah no harm in experimenting if you feel you are locked into a spot in the playoffs. Ideally I would have liked to see us at full strength in this game because there is a good chance in the 2nd round we will be matched up. Still we both have a lot of work to do to get there...but always something I am keeping in the back of my mind.
