I am STUNNED. He looks a lot better than Randle in that clip.

kudos for meeting him at the rim

real talk obviously precious isn't better than randle but i really hope we can keep him for our bench because he is the perfect backup in our ideal healthy rotation. i'd hoped we could keep deuce in the rotation, but if precious is making more of an impact, we'll probably roll with hartenstein/achiuwa/hart/burks as our backups (i'd still play deuce by default and burks situationally if i was in charge but we gotta be realistic about who our coach is it seems. was really disappointed to see thibs lean on that old habit instead of putting burks next to mcbride as his first experiment)

At least they compete! :D

Also, isn't that the same record the Knicks have in that stretch? :D

We all want to sound alarms but have to face reality. This team is greatly compromised right now and with so many players out will struggle to beat above .500 teams with basically just one star player in Brunson leading the charge.

After the all star break we should get quite a few guys back and then another few a few games after that..Thibs system is extremely reliant on certain skill sets to thrive and we were missing a lot of that the last number of games.

We are still 10-11 games above .500 and we saw what we looked like when we were almost at full health with OG playing. The team was 14-2. That is not that small a sample size and not an aberration. This team will very likely return to somewhere close to that type of dominance when they return.

I agree.

I'm just pointing out the team is going to remain greatly comprised until about 10 games left in the season. Then they MIGHT gel in time for the playoffs. If Randle doesn't reinjure his shoulder, which he very well might.

I'll always enjoy the month of good team basketball the Knicks provided this season. Looking forward to seeing it next year.

Was at the game, missed any pregame reports. Was there a reason bogie didn't play? Pretty sure we could've used his scoring, despite his defensive deficiencies.

This might be negative Nancy comments but every time Precious plays well.. that paycheck gets bigger. I will laugh if Precious gets more AAV than Obi next summer. I think Precious will be leaving because we can't offer more than X and he will get something.

Hartenstein will kill me if he leaves and offer him the starting position going forward.

When the team is healthy it should be fun seeing him dominate the other teams benches.

Idk why people do this to themselves. When the team is healthy, Thibs is benching Precious.

Think he's earned a spot in the rotation and certain lineups it makes more sense to go with him over either of the 7 footers.

IDK man, Thibs seems pretty rigid in his need for a 7 foot rim protector. He's not benching either Hartenstein or Mitch for even 1 second of any game. That means for Precious to make a 9-man regular season rotation, Thibs would have to play DDV or Hart as his backup PG. I think we all know what he'd actually do:

Hartentstein / Mitch
Randle
OG / Bogey
DDV / Hart
Brunson / Burks (or Deuce)

And in the playoffs he cuts it to an 8 man rotation, so forget about any prayer of Precious seeing the court with a healthy roster

Thanks!

I was screaming at him (was seated not too far behind them) to play him. He really needs to chill with the minutes, man. Somebody has to stop this maniac. He's a serial athlete killer.

I know the thread title was intended to be at least partially tongue in cheek, but I am actually glad that Brunson did survive. We knew he'd be featured and Orlando would be prepared to go hard at him as a result. Plus with the way things have been lately... whew.

Such a shame, we were playing such good basketball when OG first arrived cotdammit. Wish we could FF the games to April and see where we're at. It's hard to picture everyone being ready to go come playoff time, though everyone is scheduled back by then. So...

Huh?

No, we have Bogey and Hart playing the 8-10 mpg that Maniac sits Randle.

Again, he will only run 9. He will always have max rim protection. Do the math and Precious is not in the rotation at full strength unless Maniac opts against a backup PG, which he never has before.

My guy played 10 less minutes than he's averaging this season, saw everyone else get injured and said let me get injured too

Brunson 35 mins
Burks 30 mins
Deuce 32 mins

The 'Burks taking Deuce mins' didn't happen this game, in fact, Brunson and Deuce shared the floor for 19 mins. There was even time when all three of those shared the floor together.

Deuce has been getting lit up on defense the past few games, wasn't that supposed to be his primary elite skill? His shot was also off so he's blowing his chance to cement his spot in the rotation.

If Thibs runs a 9 man rotation it will be Precious getting 10-12 behind Randle based on production and Deuce out of it with Burks taking back up 2 mins as well as the back up 1 time for the 3 mins Brunson is off the court.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Plus, Thibs is committed to playing Hart at least 28 mpg and OG at least 34 mpg.
So, either Hart or OG (hopefully OG) gets backup minutes at the 4.

So long Precious. You did well here.

Think about it.

Bogs, Burk, Precious, iHart.
At least 2, and probably 3, not back on the Knicks next year.

Granted, if Bogs is gone, that means it was the "star" trade, so maybe that's a good thing.
