Kuzma has to be one of the most talented players who doesn't really help a team to win.

I feel like his ideal role is volume scorer off the bench. That's his best role for a team with any kind of playoff aspirations.

Trouble is, he's one of those players who is good enough (on offense) to feel he should start.

I hope he's alright. I thought Melo said he had personal issues of some sort.

As much of a grumpy old man as he was I always liked him. Maybe because he made me laugh but, beyond him, there's just no one around anymore. I noticed the decline a couple of years ago but, it seems like it's just rapidly decreasing and we all posted through years of garbage basketball together. Now we have something worth posting about and it's quiet.

I don't miss the negative Nancy's that hide when things are going good. I know they are somewhere lurking hoping it all fails before they come around to post. Some are still here but, they post a LOT less than they used to because too much good is happening for them to ruin the board with nonsense.

It's just weird how much the threads have shortened now that we have something good going on.

There's not as much to cry about.

Discussing how to fix a thousand things wrong with the team, venting rage after losses, and fierce back and forth fights between frustrated posters fills a lot of thread pages very quickly. That's all.

Really? Seems a lot slower. I have a shot memory but, I can swear several posters are no longer around. My late night drunk posting buddy hasn't been around. Can't remember the name but, he was president of the Randle/Thibs hate club. There are others who are no longer around as well. KT/FOE or whatever he changed his name to. I know a few got banned. Greenie and that Bulls fan clown. Jimmit. It has definitely slimmed down some. Shams is on hiatus.

Maybe the RJ/Randle/Frank etc wars drove the post count up but, it definitely seems like the post/page count has dropped dramatically and several posters have not been around or were banned.

I remember never being able to follow the game threads at all because the posts would be a page or two behind by the time I hit send and, the post game threads having far more pages than they do now.

Oh well. I am shot so, I'll take your word for it.

Overall the boards are the same but it fluctuates based on team and win or loss. In general, enthusiasm for the NBA is waning some.

I could write a book on it but I think the NBA is losing people's hearts - attention at least - for various reasons, some of which have very little to do with basketball. It has been in scramble mode since COVID. But they have to contend with major headwinds and I don't think the measures they've implemented necessarily help.

The switch to high volume three point shooting has definitely taken some of the substance out of the game. Just running back forth chucking threes too often. One and done offense and then scrambling back to try and play D while the other team runs up the court and jacks a three. It can be pretty ugly when the shots aren't falling. The superteams took a lot out of it too for a while. Not being allowed to play defense. Superstar leniency with calls. Foul baiting and flopping. Now with all of the gambling people think the refs are in on the fix with the terrible officiating. Then the stupid gimmicks have also turned people off. The streaming blackouts. Terrible all star games. It's a different game from the one I grew up watching.

Yeah. Some posters left/were banned as well but, the misery and the stupid player wars did drive a lot of posts. It's definitely noticeable. It's a lot less Homer vs hater wars. I guess it makes sense but, it's still a fact that posters are no longer around as well. Probably because of the misery and the stupid wars.

National Media may not notice because he's still taking a lot of shots but seeing Brunson morph his game into more of a pure point guard role over the past few games has been a joy to watch.

He's almost turned into a pass first guy the past week. Have to think it's intentional since that one post game where he said he has to get KAT going. It's paying major dividends on offense. The ball is swinging like crazy and we're seeing way less stagnation than we did early in the season.

While KAT being awesome out the gate has been nice to calm the nerves after the trade, this latest boom has been all about Brunson and his sacrifice as the alpha of the team.

What a joy to watch he is. And he still isn't even playing at his best IMO.

Towns but also Bridges, OG etc proving folks wrong (maybe even bringing to light a lack of understanding of the game) doesn’t sit well with everyone. It was always obvious, but by now it must be really embarrassing. There’s no way around this reality, hence the fewer posts, and this team is only getting started.

It started off slow last year as well but picked up come playoff time. It will probably be the same this season

People only like to complain. Minutes police discourse is boring until someone actually gets injured then traffic might pick up. Whether 4th string center should play over 3rd string center isn’t getting much traction. 95% of the board have been saying towns sucks and didn’t want to trade for him for the past decade and don’t wanna have a mea culpa and admit he’s good. A great GM, a great coach, a fun team, a superstar center, a promising future. Sad times in realgm

Missed the game again, but I see JB's fully embracing his role as more of a passer with more talent around him this year...

I think we can lead the L in assists!

Towns really gobbling all the boards... OG playing like on a mission to become an All Star.

I like Pac... has high offensive awareness..!!

Good. I hope they miss the playoffs.

Shouldn't this be in Around the NBA thread

How the mighty have fallen

All experts predicting they finish better than us, championship contenders !!!

What's crazy about this game is Sixers had a 19 pt lead, then Heat came back and had a 19 pt lead !

Wild !

I really think they trade Embiid while his stock is high this offseason or he asks for a trade. If I was a team in with warchest of assets to trade for him, I'm not sure I'd do the trade. He's a superstar when healthy but can he even play 40-45 mins in any game anymore?? He's so fragile, and pretty much guaranteed to get hurt near/ in playoffs.

Something no one has mentioned about Thibs' heavy minute usage is that we play at the slowest pace in the league. If you play ball then you know playing 40 mins at a slower pace is much different than playing 40 mins at a faster pace. It's a bit less taxing on your body. I'm not trying to justify it but something to consider.

We should be getting Precious back on this road trip. No KD, Beal, and possibly Nurkic for the Phoenix game. We should win the next 2

shams personal issues are centered around a breaking and entry charge at Radio Shack and how the feds are trying to use that to flip him as a key witness against Diddy.
