random note - it has happened to the knicks a few times where a made 3 point basket is later taken away because a replay review sees the shooter was out of bounds... how can they do that but not overturn the made 3 when a guy clearly travels (up and down)? i kept thinking back to that play when the game was close down the stretch. if we lost by a possession or 2 i would have been pissed. something that obvious should be fixed.

Him and Huk had a total of 10 fouls tonight. Maybe the Rockets are just good at drawing fouls on opposing bigs.

I understand him being nervous. It just seems like an odd time to "show him some love" imo. It wasn't a good showing for him. He blocked Adams but also picked up 4 quick fouls while being a bit chaotic. It is just 1 game so i'm not going to form an opinion on him just as I didn't after that 1 Brooklyn game earlier in the season.

Gritty win. This had all the hallmarks of a typical letdown. Poor reffing, shoddy three-point shooting, a struggling star in foul trouble, and Rockets bench players blacking out from the field. But Brunson wasn't about to let it happen, and the other key guys made plays.

Mikal stepped up as a second scorer; KAT made plays in the fourth; Hart closed the second quarter strong...it was just enough for Brunson to do what he does. Precious and Deuce were alright too.

Shamet's literally just a body out there and needs a replacement if he can't shoot. Payne's shot selection is funny when the bench is rolling and painful when it isn't. Huk didn't look ready, but the Rockets are a tough team for a rookie. An insurance big in case Mitch gets hurt again, and one more wing should be the trade deadline targets.

Well, that's on Thibs, isn't it?

If Thibs idea of bringing guys along is you get one shot and either you excel or you go back to the end of the bench that's not going to work.

Hukporti has the traits we've needed in our frontline and needs to be handled better than some random 8 minutes once every six weeks which is frankly quite stupid.
