Thibs cant coach his preferred D without an elite rim protector. PERIOD.

Its blatantly obvious at this point and this game was certainly no exception. He has had an elite 5 (or two ) all 5 years here that he gave MAJOR minutes to. He prefers it greatly over small ball and we all know it.

We are a VERY good team right now with a championship level offense but we aint beating the top 3 or 4 teams without an elite rim protecting 5 patroling the paint so the other guys can focus more on their perimeter D.

Cam and Shamet were cooking to start the 4th and we built up a double digit lead again with their fresh legs. Not sure why Thibs pulled Shamet after 4 minutes. Lost complete momentum from there. Its just dumb stuff that he does that has no coaching reasoning behind it besides him loving to ride the starters. You can get away with ish like this in the regular season but you'll get killed in the playoffs.

Means nothing.

I keep focusing on what’s going to destroy them in the playoffs.

I understand your concern. However, we could play perfectly in the regular season and get destroyed in the playoffs -- or get destroyed in the regular season and win it all in the playoffs.

Instead of setting expectations, maybe you should take everything one day at a time and simply enjoy the ride.

Man if you told me these stats, I would have you we lost this game...

They took 16 more shots than us, made 3 more threes, outboarded us by 8 and grabbed 19 offensive rebounds, had 43 assists compared to our 28, 12 steals to our 6, 9 blocks to our 5, they had 5 less turnovers than us.

We were just ridiculously efficient. We have stars, where if they're taking 20 shots, they're regularly putting up 35, 40 points. Also the Hawks bricked some free throws.

One more thing before I checked out for lunch.

I remembered during last offseason, some people suggested us to sign TJ McConnell, it didn't happen; instead we have signed Cameron Payne.

Payne is our TJ McConnell now, a bench spark that the opposing fans hate while Knicks fans embrace.
Are you fans of the team or the player?

Best record at the ASB in 28 years? Best team this century. End of story.

We already use to having a good team. We tryna get past the second round. Y’all think this will work? It’s ok to point out flaws in wins. Knicks have a lot to work on if they are trying to win a chip. If they want to win 50 games and excite casual fans then they can keep doing what they are doing.

People can save their tears bro. I ain't handing out tissues for people who can't appreciate a winning team. Used to a good team? Muthafuqqas been crying about this team ALL SEASON!! If that ain't you then good for you. I didn't say anything about pointing out flaws in wins. Not sure why you are coming at me on that front. Thibs is the biggest flaw we have and I have let it be known PLENTY. I don't have time for the constant BS cry baby garbage posts as if nothing is good enough around here though. Crying about the future that hasn't happened and disrespectful to people who are enjoying the present? Those people can kiss my entire ass!

This team has been together for 3.5 months. We replaced 9-10 players from last years battered and tattered roster that Jalen carried to the 2nd round on his back!! We are just getting warmed up. Maybe we fall short in the playoffs. So what? It takes YEARS to build a championship team. Not weeks. We are very close and I am sick of the mutts in here crying about everything. It's fuggin ridiculous. Acting like none of this matters? FOH with that BS.CRY BABIES NEED A DIAPER CHANGE? STFU AND GTFO. There is plenty of room on the GB for pussies like that.

Or Mitch can return, man the middle and it won't destroy us in the playoffs? Again I reaaaaaally think fans forget what Mitch is on the court lol. Man can single handily anchor this defense in the playoffs, all that pick and roll w/ the ball handler getting to the rim, that all goes away.

To win a championship we will have to be the best knicks team in 52 years. Not easy and we are not there yet but at least closer then we have been since Ewing. Steps. It's a process. Who knows if we will or won't. Odds are always against us. At least we are giving it a good shot.

That’s actually how much OG means to the team he’s basically the entire defense he’s the real life version of what people think Mitch is

We are last in the NBA in 3 pt defense and 14th in 2 pt defense and OG was healthy for all those games.

One player won’t save an awful defense.

This is a combination of personnel and coaching.

Yet we still have a top 5 record in the league because we are top 4 team in ppg. This is an offense focused team, it’s not the same kind of team we are used to watching for the past several years.

It looks like an offense focused team because we have two ridiculously talented offensive players surrounded by players that can hit a shot or two

The reality is that we also have more than enough personnel to also be a fairly decent defensive team. Maybe not top 3 but certainly not a bottom half or bottom quarter team in very important metrics.

What we have is a coaching problem because we are leaning on defensive philosophy that was good 10 years ago but isn’t smart anymore
