Let me get this right. KAT at the 5 got us the best record we've seen in decades. We dethroned the NBA champs. Got to the ECF for the first time in decades...and he's consistently been a net positive this season, and had the best All Star, All-NBA season of his career.

But because the Pacers pulled off a miracle in game 1, and we lost a very close game 2... somehow haters are high-fiving each other saying "I told you so" that KAT can't play the 5 and must be traded for the Knicks to compete??? Sad to see fans of other teams on our board actively rooting against our Knicks.

Anyway...For starters, Thibs has to try putting Deuce or Mitch in the starting lineup and let Josh be energy bench guy he's supposed to be. Deuce lets the Knicks play true 5 out with much tighter perimeter defense....while Mitch adds vertical spacing, all-around elite defense, and rebounding.

Fix the player combinations to put everyone in the best position to succeed, and take it from there.

The defense is a problem, but so is our offense. It has also been hugely disappointing considering we have both Brunson and KAT. And this falls on the players around them, because those two alone provide elite shot creation, elite floor spacing, and efficient scoring.

It's just as much of a reality that OG, Mikal and to a lesser Hart have completely underperformed offensively relative to expectations.

OG and Mikal are scoring on RJ levels of efficiency, while providing nada in other areas (offensive rebounding and playmaking). Tell me with a straight face having two RJs on offense hasn't been a major issue as well.

-Legit top 5 player locked up (Brunson)
-First ECF trip in 25 years
-Knocked off reigning champs against all odds
-Expected to be a top 3 seed again next season
-Core locked up for years
-This series is not quite over yet
-NY is finally a legit “star” destination again
-Coaching change could get us to 60 wins

The present and future is bright. We could be a very good team for a very long time.

How 0g tries one on one moves many times and he’s not good at it

Towns also not integrated and takes some wild shots but also a very good scorer and he’s had good defensive moments in the playoffs, particularly good LATE defensive plays … we don’t win either of the first two rounds without him and we don’t win a game this series without him doing well … in fact he won G1 after his good play (he also shot with 17 seconds on the clock, so clearly the whole team is at fault, which stops on Tom’s chubby lap)

He’s not as good as his contract and a poor help defender

But 0g sucks. Mikal has been a major bust. And let’s face it, Jalen’s mindset is all messed up too. He’s reflecting the same disjointed and untrusting approach to the team that Tom radiates

If I am GM, I seriously fire Tom without a second of hesitation after G1. And next coach should bench 0g and he splits time with Deuce the rest of the way. If that doesn’t perk him up you reduce him to 15mpg
