Say what you want about Tom, and I'm was one leaning that he should get fired, you can't really say he lost the locker room. I think the players, Brunson in particular, liked him a lot.

The thing I fear now is that this was a James Dolan decision. And we all know, when he's the one calling shots, **** goes sour.

This could be our Doug Collins to PJax moment. Or it can be another JVG to Don Chaney

I’m a random outsider that has 0 posts on this particular sub forum but have lived in nyc over 10 years of my life and this was clearly a Dolan decision.

For the first time Dolan stayed out of the way. I’m confident he collapsed under the pressure of a conf finals visit.

Ridiculous to think the KAT/Brunson pairing wasn't working because it was flawed. No, it wasn't working because our opponents were sticking their center on a non-shooter, when the evidence says you need 5 shooters to work a true 5-out offense.

@snadler, i love thibs too. but as I've always said, he's accountable for the results. there were a few times in that pacers series i finally thought he might have done enough to lose the job. didn't want to see it, but i get it.

He was fired the minute he made the lineup change. At that point, he either had to win or he was getting dismissed.

The reason I say that is because he was scrambling at that point because he refused to use the regular season to experiment with things. We should have had answers about the bench, about Mitch with the starters, about Deuce with the starters, etc... long before the Pacers forced his hand and he tried to get a whole season's worth of questions answered in 3 games.

The reason he got away with it was because the belief had to be that he had his reasons for not doing that earlier. The fact that he changed it up when desperate kind of undercut that.

i don't think mitch was ready to start during the regular season to be fair. he was still working his way back for the 1st month.

Get them ALL the fu*k out of here.

We want a goddamn championship.

Tired of that goblet of fire bowl from the 70’s, seems like the FO feels the exact same way.

The FO gave an ultimate prize of a $30 million guaranteed contract to Thibs. He should go and enjoy his retirement now.

Again, I do not claim to be an insider or newsbreaker, so take this with a ton of salt, but the Wright rumbling is extremely intense from people I know who would know about these things.

Just don't screw this up. Thibs made a ton of questionable choices this season, so I'm not mad at it. But I thought he did enough to warrant one more season with the FO tweaking the roster for him.

Get me a legit coach...the last thing I want is another decade of hiring mediocrity.

Waiting until you're down 0-2 in the ECF to finally use the bench, and guys actually playing well, was pretty damning.

I don't take any pleasure out of this. It sucks. But there was something wrong with this club all season long despite the 50 wins and getting as far as we did.

Dollars to donuts that this wasn't a Dolan decision. It was definitely Leon Rose's decision.

I will say this again, many of you place too much responsibility on the coach, and again, Thibs was far from perfect, but when you watch Brunson and KAT come up small, you watch the struggles they had especially with KaT and his brain lapses on defense, you see the lack of shooting, the lack of another ball handler to help Brunson out, to see a team without the athletes to keep up with the pacers. Again, to blame the coach for the loss roster flaws is just flat out wrong. Again with ALL OF THAT SAID, I trust Leon and his decision making. I am disappointed Thibs is gone, but I WILL
KEEP SAYING THIS, a new coach WILL NOT FIX THE ROSTER FLAWS..but now this is step one, i will keep saying this a new coach deserves to not have KAT and brunson..at least give the new coach a chance
