He set some solid screens and leveled someone on a screen who was guarding Brunson.
Kept a lot of offensive boards alive on taps.

And sure, he's moving a little sluggish but he plays smart, understands where to go, move the ball, set the good screen.

I think at some point fans will stop hating him. Probably in 50 games or so, since, well, Knicks fans.

Yabu-ty is ass.

He's never going to be really good. He looked like sh*t in the preseason. I'm going to call it like I see it when he does some solid stuff.

Needs to lose that weight and get back to last year's playing weight. It won't transform him but he'll look better.

The great thing about this team with our depth we don't need a guy like Yabusele to be amazing. We just need to find what he is good at and he can carve a role doing it. Clarkson for instance if he keeps it up has been playing pretty good defense which is huge.

Yabusele my guess needs to be a screen setter out there as well as hit the 3 and crash the boards.

Maybe not slander but he is frustrating af sometimes.

Still reckless on his drives, commits foolish fouls and is still rough on PnR defense.

Love that he is getting up more 3s. Use him to his strength. He is also an exceptional rebounder.

But at this point he is who he is so I've got to learn to accept that the foolishness isnt going anywhere and the good far outweighs the bad.

Good coaches minimize exposing weaknesses and maximize accentuating strengths of each individual player.

KAT has plenty of strengths. In the right role his weaknesses, while they will never be entirely eliminated, they can at least be mitigated more than Thibs did.

Good Og News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just gonna say that Mike Brown is winning me over slowly and nothing else about nobody else

I know there are strong agendas here about the starters but its nice that he ran bigs against the cavs and went small against the cs.

Its refreshing to have a coach that doesn't wait until we have our backs against the wall in the playoffs to adjust.

Id like to see a lil more cohesiveness with brunson and kat... though im aware its game 2 and it will take time.

And honestly idgaf how we run an offense as long as we win. I enjoyed watching spree and Houston post up. So spam 3s if it leads to wins.

I missed the game but yeah. If Mike brown and the coaching staff are willing to adapt for matchups then I can’t complain.

It sounds like our offense struggled a bit and Brunson bailed us out. Gonna watch the replay later today

He dribbles with his head down like Randle. Plus his left hand is weak. Just double when he starts his move

Who started the BBL sele nickname? He looked a little better this game but Guerschon still needs to get significantly lighter.

I wish I could watch a replay of the game. I didn't notice Clarkson's defense this game and I didn't have high hopes for him on that end.

Brunson & Kat need to stop falling so much because it creates a 4 vs 5 fast break & easy buckets for teams, especially if The team likes to run. Knicks still can’t guard the 3pt line too well. It’s still early , new coach, new system . But Knicks win .

Yet Knicks have least points given up in entire NBA (for teams that have played 2 games)

3 defense not perfect but a whole lot better than last year.

We're also 5th from the bottom in PPG. I think our pace is still pretty crappy. Definitely better but still crappy.

I thought that pic with Knicks wearing hardhat and neon vest holding timbs was AI generated because that isht is cheezy af. Be better.

Huk going from opening game starter to dnp coach's decision is sus this Brown cat is on my radar now. If it was the previous coach yall would be losing it.

Speaking of the name that shall not be spoken it's amazing how he is in fan's mouths and living rent free in their heads like no other person I have ever seen.

We need to banish his mentions to Hamsterdam.

He also has that finger injury.

I just dunno why he doesn't get it fixed now and be a 100% come playoff time.
His hustle and rebounding are game changing for us, but if he shoots it like this in the playoffs....

Right..perhaps he thinks it will improve, or that he can just adapt over time. I'm wondering though , do we even need him to shoot? We have other guys who do it better from the bench and as we saw last night, he can still have huge impact just with his rebounding and hustle.

Beating the Celtics and Cavs this year aint like playing them last year. Mike brown is having the easiest start for a NYC coach ever, Fizdale couldn't lose these games lol

robillionaire wrote:Other notes

Clarkson was a +12 and Shamet was a -8 (worst). I don’t know why Shamet plays and hopefully his minutes decrease soon.

Not sure where some of the guys from game 1 went. No hukporti, Jamison..

shamet had 2 really bad turnovers. 1st one he threw a pass seemingly without even looking/realizing the defender was there to steal it. the other one was in semi transition he just rocketed the ball at Yabs head - who even if he caught it wasn't in a position to do anything with it. so it was a confusing pass. hopefully just learning curve stuff associated with the emphasis on ball movement and getting out and running etc

I think no huk was a matchup decision. i like that about brown so far is he's mixing/matching rather than just playing the same exact rotation like thibs did. we have the personnel to switch it up depending on the opponent or what is working. even when Mitch comes back I doubt he will always start.

Only Mikal playing 36mpg and this is after his 2 fouls in the 1st. The starters minute distribution looking good, Brunson not bringing up the ball all the time, Brunson playing off ball.. we might see a less tired clutch player of the year.
