The Cap set the tone in the 1st, Clarkson came in off the bench and did the same in the 2nd. Bench was elite! Hart was all over the place! So good to see him bounce back and shut up the critics! Shame on anyone who disrespects our heart and soul!

I like the 9 men rotation. Playing 11 is dumb imo.

I was honestly convinced that brown was just going to play 8 guys in the second half then Clarkson came out at the start of the 4th. Kolek dribbling the ball off himself was clearly the last straw and flabu leash is incredibly short. Don’t really love having the play Josh at the 4 so much but we don’t really have another forward until Flabu gets in shape.

Flabu played 2 minutes too many

Couldn’t let Flabu fly under the radar. That’s quality work my friend.

Thank you. I was hoping someone noticed. :D

Also, Brown is protecting Yabu it seems

Yabu is the new Achiuwa, which would be fine if Yabu hit threes at a higher clip

If Yabu cant hit threes, then he might be a worse option than Achiuwa

Even if he was averaging 25ppg this defense would make a championship GM consider trading

He's averaging 18ppg

May just have to trade him just for the sake of getting away/ saving ourselves from his defense

2nd play was not KATs fault at all. Guards letting Javon Carter blow by them so he goes to help and then his man scores.

The 3s ... Jalen Smith is a career 33% 3pt shooter and a horrible 25% on the season. Thats one of those "defense gives you the shot" type plays.

I feel like while KAT isnt great by any stretch people pick out the wrong plays and simply look for "whoever KATs man is scored" which misses the little things like KAT swinging over to help and things like that

Career low FGA for Towns thus far. I'm not sure what Brown's plan is here, but he's treading dangerous waters having your 2nd best player shoot career low attempts while also being a below-average defender by nature. Towns isn't going to wake up tomorrow with lateral speed and a 48 inch vert. He's a scorer who's not being asked to score right now.

That said, his efficiency is absolutely bonkers for a floor-spacing 3pt center. Curious to see where coach Brown goes with this, but it sure looks like it's the Jalen (or Clarkson) show on offense. Where does that leave Towns?

Because KAT is kind of a spaz when he drives against any kind of resistance? He's a great shooter but I swear he's the worst scorer who scores 20 ppg that I've ever seen. He's good in the post but not great but teams hardly play that way anymore, he's not good at driving unless the floor is REALLY spread out, and he's a very good but not great outside shooter.
He's extremely overpaid.

One of those players that gets paid like a superstar but isn't one.

Oh, and his defense sucks.

I thought Hart played a lot more inspired so that was good to see. Clarkson showed a little of what he can provide when we need a bucket. Towns was never gonna play badly for long as he is too talented.

I still can't believe Brunson is averaging 31 PPG on 48% shooting when he's only shooting 33% on 3's.

The in game leadership from the players was great to see, if Mikal is yelling at you you really messed up.

so one thing that is really noticeable is that his off ball game has been prevalent in Mike Browns system.

He took 1.9 attempts per game last year on C&S opportunities with an eFG% of 62.5%

He is currently taking 3.8 attempts per game this year on C&S opportunities with an eFG% of 73.9%

he's nearly doubling his attempts and his efficiency is elite.

Once he gets his pull up game working (which he has been like a career worst at) back to his average levels...he's going to be cooking on all cylinders.

Separate out floor time for JB and KAT. Keep Mitch in when KAT is in. Keep Deuce in when JB is in. Let Clarkson be the primary ball handler on 2nd unit.

These are just some of the things I've noticed so far this season that has led to better all around play and bench production.

Last year, we had 5 guys over 35 mpg

So far this year, we have 1

To my eyes, the bench minutes are more a factor of roster construction than anything. You look at the bench guys in the rotation, it's Hart (6'4), Shamet (6'4), Clarkson (6'3), Deuce (6'2), and Kolek (6'1). Those guys have the 5 most total minutes from non-starters for us, and of those 5, Hart is the only one who's kind of a big. This is where Yabusele being out of shape really hurts us, cause if he can't play due to fat, as well as Mitch being made of glass, our only other guy who can maybe play in the rotation as a big is Hukporti, who is really not that good and also injured a lot, but he was a late 2nd round pick for those reasons so it's hard to expect much from him

We don't need to make big moves, we just need to re-balance the roster. Get a big wing to spell Mikal/OG for a few more minutes a game, and get a backup big who can spot start. Ideally those roles would be filled by Dadiet/Yabu/Mitch, but it doesn't look like we can rely on them so far this year

This is a good team, just unbalanced. I'm not worried for when we get to the playoffs.

It's cuz Mikal only had 1 year under Thibs ISO mania. Thibs wasn't able to entirely reprogram him. It will take the others probably half the season if not more to Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
