Regardless of whether Dolan wants to keep Lin long term anymore, I believe he will understand that from a business perspective, it is best to match him and then get something in return in a trade of Lin instead of just letting him go for nothing.
I was discussing this issue at work and everyone, male or female, pretty much knew about this situation. The fact is that Lin is popular and he will sell tickets anywhere. He is an asset that Dolan should not waste.
They had some business guy on ESPN Radio today saying the money Lin brings in isn't as glorious as people seem to think it is, in terms of how much goes in to MSGs pocket.. Outside of winning.
Dolan's a wild card, anything could happen between now and tomorrow night...The Knicks are going about this as silently as you can.. No sources, no 'people with knowledge of thinking' etc etc from ANY of the writers... Outside of SAS, who claimed he knows Felton's people were told he'd be the starting PG/Lin won't be back, or something of that nature... The addition of Felton and the fact that the Knicks have yet to match is the only real thing that could be read into.
Woodson coming out and saying they'd match the other day means they were obviously planning on doing so.. Whether they don't believe this new deal is worth it for Lin, or they felt betrayed or w/e.. Things likely changed since then.

Anything else to say Melo. "Yeah, KG was way out of line today. I thought we was cool motherf*cker."

Was Melo surprised by the reaction to his comments? "I always get backlash. It's nothing new. It is what it is."
