ok glad we didn't get embarrassed but we still have to get 2 in Houston. We might have a shot next game being a bullpen game but game 7 against Cole will be tough ! Im glad we smacked up cocky a$$ Verlander, he looked sad. Our bats need to wake up! Start Romine instead of Sanchez please. As long as we smack up their bullpen next game we should be able to carry that momentum into game 7 for Cole. #believe

Very pleased they won.

VERY pleased they won.

But man, that was one of the least inspiring BIG wins I've seen. They scored 4 in the first to win the game and got exceptional pitching, but the offense then promptly got totally owned the rest of the way. Verlander retired 20 of the last 21 hitters he faced, with the one hit being Didi's weak-ass single. The Stros lost, but preserved their bullpen and ended on a strong note that the chronic issues the Yankees offense has had are still front and center.

All that said, I'm still hoping and praying they can pull a rabbit out of the hat again tomorrow. I don't want this season to end...

So true. They were still dominated by Verlander overall.

Funny, we finally win once we take lazy Edwin out the lineup.

Keep him away. Keep Stanton in because at least he’s intimidating. Hopefully Gardy wakes up. Sanchez....lol yeah idk.

Great win. Don’t even wanna hear any talk about this being the least inspiring big game win. They beat Verlander and got some mojo back.

One game at a time. I said this team as constructed was not good enough to win in playoffs. I want to be proven wrong.

Put Romine in the lineup and see if he can make contact. Sanchez is too much of a liability out there.

The Stadium being loud in the postseason will warm my heart every time I hear it.

I thought that win was very inspiring.

I cried in joy when I saw Ottavino not enter the game.

Paxton should’ve had a shutout going, I blame that run on Sanchez. Passed ball and technically the 2nd was a wild pitch, but I feel 80% of catchers block that pitch.

Solid W, interesting one tomorrow. Gotta get off to a good start and have a multiple run lead early in game 6. Need the bottom of the lineup to get something going.

Don't get too hype, might have to use him tomorrow. Man German really screwed us here. But I think our bullpen is better than theirs, I think. We need our guys bats to get hot so we can carry the momentum for game 7. I expect no less than 5 runs here.

What they need to do is start taking advantage when they have runners in scoring position. With the exception of Hicks last night, they’ve been horrible in those situations. That’s been the problem this entire series.

They just need to string together hits, period, too. They've been totally shut down offensively since game one, with Hicks' huge, game-winning moment last night appearing to be an anomaly at this point. And even IT was inches from being a non-event foul ball. Verlander got lit up in the first, throwing 29 pitches, but then proceeded to mow them down like normal, getting through 7 innings on just 105 pitches total. He threw just 76 pitches over 6 one-hit, shutout innings to close the game. :banghead:

Hopefully the bats wake up and give some consistent work to this Astros bullpen. They did it all year to very good teams and pitchers. They can't keep dancing between the raindrops with this clearly different, aggressive plate approach they seem to have adopted for this postseason series. I really want to see the team I rooted for all year - patient, great approach, well balanced, etc.

This Astros Bullpen has been very good against us. Need to hit these guys hard tonight.

If we didn't pitch Ottazero and Happless, might have been 3-2 Yanks.

Those guys helped get you here. You're bullpen got you here. If the bullpen fails, then that's how it goes. You can't give up on the players that got your here.

You guys really going with the bullpen the entire game? This should be interesting. I guess it could work. The more important thing is for your hitters to get going.

So the guy who pitched the final inning last night starts the bullpen game tonight, and the Yankees go 1-2-3 in the first on just 7 pitches.

The way they've completely shifted their approach this series has sucked all the life out of me.

Can't even get too angry with Green. That one was off the plate.
