He flashed a lot of the signs I look for last year. He flashed bigger stats on higher efficiency after the break in his 3rd season. I.e. his only issue was minutes and usage.

I still find it funny it takes him half a season to get going. But also, Phoenix's front office is stupid. You fired the coach that had an issue with Ayton, and still get rid of Ayton? Stupid.

Magic lose to GSW. 1-9 in their last 10. Remember they were playing well when Banchero and Wagner were both out, but they're losing since both came back. I guess Suggs is the real MVP of the team

Tbh idk why you keep saying it takes him half a season to get going when that’s not even true for most of his career lol

But yeah Phoenix fked up. Nurkic doesn’t even play for them

I have a feeling that this is gonna fuel Luka to get in shape and destroy the league. It probably doesn't help having LeBron in his ear now. I'm kinda nervous.

I mean, I get it. Dude needs to stop smoking loosies and cut out the beer/bad carbs but dude is a machine that plays year round smelling like an ash tray and dominates at the highest level at age 25. He has a lot of basketball left and plenty of time to cut the bad stuff out.

Dallas just f*cked everyone with this. You'd have to kill me before I'd trade a talent like Luka.

I feel the opposite. If getting targeted on every play in the finals didn’t motivate him im not sure anything else will. Now he’s in Hollywood and he’s gonna do whatever tf he wants imo.

magic season is interesting. they were winning without their supposed best players and then they come back and they are losing basically every game. everyone (including me) thought "watch out for when Paulo/Franz come back - they're going to be a problem" but they've somehow gotten a lot worse lol

i haven't actually watched any of their games so not sure what the issue is. I'm sure they're missing the other wagner bro, and maybe paulo/franz aren't shooting well?

Luka needs to get on some of that good Hollywood cocaine. That'll slim him down.

Some spit fire takes I have at the deadline about non-Knicks teams:

-Magic have finally reverted to what they should have been this whole season. They've been operating with a bottom five offense this entire season and last season. They are, by far, the worst shooting team in the league. They are slowly falling into the trap of overrating their own young talent and not making the moves they need to make to actually become a good team to the point of having their assets slowly depreciate. Giving KCP the contract they gave him was a mistake. They were not a KCP away from contending and now they're stuck with him...They had comparisons to the Thunder but the Thunder have REAL offensive talent. The Magic lack that besides Paolo and to an extent Franz (but he can't shoot). NBA twitter loves them for some reason (even though they are an awful offensive watch) and are giving them a pass. They NEED to make a move or they are going to be cannon fodder in the playoffs for any team that has a decent defense and a good offense. They should have been in on Lavine. He would have elevated them and they had the infrastructure to deal with his weaknesses.

-Any team with an aging star should be calling the Warriors every hour by the hour to take advantage of their desperation. Steph has officially lost a step and is more like a top 15-20 guy at this point. They simply don't have enough top end talent to win but also don't really have the prime assets to get a non-ancient star in the building. Their 2nd best player is Andrew Wiggins. Morey won't do it because he refuses to not completely handicap 80% of his roster by having overpaid, aging stars on his payroll but the Warriors could be his get out of jail free card with the quickly becoming horrendous PG deal.

-Lakers should trade LeBron. This might be a hot take but, I think this roster even with Luka just is going to take too much tinkering in a limited amount of time to be optimized around LeBron and Luka. Lakers can really secure their next decade by getting a nice return for LeBron now and set up for the next team that wants to volunteer to bail out the Lakers with a cut rate star...

-IF the Warriors are going to make a move for a star it should be for Zion. Another team that should consider trading for Zion is the Sixers. Embiid to third team (Magic I'm talking to you), spare pieces and parts to the Pels.

-Rockets will stand pat but are going to miss a window for contention in the West IMO. Moving Jalen Green/Jabari Smith and FVV for a real shot creator would make them favorites in the West IMO. It's wide open. Don't be scared. They should have made a harder push for Fox. Go get Durant and stop pussyfooting around.

-Milwaukee is screwed. That's about it  . Knicks you are officially on the clock with your best Giannis offer this summer.

-Haliburton becoming good again is annoying. After it seemed like the Pacers may be desperate they've righted the ship

I probably have more but i'll leave it there.

Return to New York Knicks
