So Durant to MIL, Giannis to us, Hart + salary fillers to the Suns. I'm just a little concerned that Phoenix won't sign off on this without a little physical coercion.

No way MIL takes on Durant. Makes zero sense for them. Instead, Durant should be routed to a team that actually wants him now (ie MIN or HOU) and then the assets returned from those teams goes to MIL.

Somehow, MIL will want NOP in any Giannis trade so they can get their picks back and tank properly (I would think).

Durant and KAT upfront would be getting shredded on defense:

Brunson
Bridges
OG
Durant
Mitch

is a line-up that can be top 8 defensively AND offensively. A KAT/Durant frontcourt with JB in the backcourt would have us outside the top 15, possibly top 20 defensively. And then you have the problem of having 3 guys that need shots + Bridges. That is not going to work. If we trade for Durant, it's gotta be for KAT.

Would really need a backup C to platoon with Mitch

Anybody else think nothing is ANNOUNCED till after the finals so as to not upstage them. Maybe they name a Coach, but that's it (even if a deal is agreed upon)?

Bobby Marks said that using the 5.7m MLE triggers the 2nd apron, so yea that sucks.

Gunna have to really sell Horford and Cp3 on their max vet min amount of sub 4m.

I’d be shocked if KD didn’t go to Minnesota.

Hukporti... if he wont be ready you trade McBride for Kessler in January... Nance, Portis can be alternatives too if they are willing to accept out tax payer MLE... We shall trade Josh Hart and Achiuwa too for a real playmaker off the bench...

Ok, let's do this. The trades are valid, and basketball improvements, for both teams. (Ok, modulo Giannis demanding out from the Bucks.)

Knicks trade OG and Mitch to the Bucks for Giannis in the 2024-2025 season. Bucks have to send out 2 mil in salary to a third team.

Knicks trade KAT to Phoenix for KD. Salary difference in either 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 is less than 2 mil. This is what undeveloped rookies are for.

Knicks trade Bridges to Memphis for JJJ. Salary difference is under 2 mil again. Either year,

[edit for clarity: the Knicks need to dump 2m in salary for both of those trades to a third team. Luckily they already have Kolek, McCullars and Dadiet avaible for those dumps.]

Knicks trade Josh Hart to Minny for Donte and Dillingham.

In all cases... picks and whatever? Fine, maybe, tbd

Giannis
JJJ
KD
DVD
JB
---
Deuce
Delon
Dillingham
Huk

Personally Im not trading 3 more control years of KAT for an older KD. However I'd probably do Bridges, Mitch and Hart which adds up right about to his salary.

We'd lose too much rebounding (Mitch and Hart), Defense (Mitch/Bridges),Playmaking (Hart) and durability (Bridges)... Team gets older and thinner,I dont think that makes sense either. Only way Durant makes sense to me is on a buyout contract.

What you gain is more than you lose. Bridges and Mitch only have 1 year left on their contracts. . KD brings the gravity of one of the greatest shooters in the NBA even at his age and the 5 out offense would be absolutely ridiculous.

Knicks for clicks. Only offer would be KAT for KD unless they had a 3rd team in the wing. Or it's Bridge/Hart and pieces.

A trade of 3 starters for 1 starter has rarely worked out.

There is no way the Jazz would trade Kessler for McBride....Kessler is worth at least 2 FRPs....maybe more...

It also seems mathematically impossible

Mikal, Mitch, and Josh together make more money than KD

So it would be more like Mikal, Mitch, Deuce, Dadiet, Kolek, and Hukporti for KD and MAYBE 1 or 2 players from a 3rd team

If KD interest is true, I doubt its for giving up KAT. The most logical is Mitch, Bridges, Hart. And the salaries add up extremely close where you bring in a 3rd team for a simple balance to satisfy the cba.
