Kidd is 39. Lin is unproven over full season. Is it unreasonable to think NY would sign Felton as mere insurance, not as Lin replacement?

Does make sense.

Also gives us a trade chip in the future.

I'd rather not match Lin, but its not out of the equation imo.

If you don't know nothing about how to run a team, yeah, it'd make a lot of sense.

I'd need to sample all of them a few times to make a decision...

Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN
That said, I'll still be shocked if the Knicks don't match the offer for Jeremy Lin.

What happened to the poster who said Isola had sources and was right about the Knicks NOT matching Lin.

All you guys hating on Felton need to stop. He averaged 17/9 here and was the second best player on that Knicks team - better then Gallo and Chandler.

Can somebody call to the radio saying that you won't renew the season ticket if Lin is let go? At least make your voice heard if you want Lin to stay.

But I'm not going to quit the team over THIS. There have been plenty of other, waaaaaaaaayy more worthwhile reasons to walk away from this team over the years. Trying to surround the most talented core we've seen as fans in over a decade with as many solid veterans as possible doesn't even register on my list of grievances with this franchise.

If we don't match Lin but win it all next year, did the FO still make a mistake??

My friend just texted me the news. I actually posted this scenario when Fat Felton was reported to be at Dolan's July 4th BBQ. The simple fact is that if we don't match Lin, I would give up being a Knicks fan for awhile. I've stuck with this team through thick and thin; I used to listen to every game on the radio with Clyde on FAN, I suffered through the Layden years, the Isiah years...this may be the final straw. If we don't match Lin, it would be like getting stabbed in the heart with a knife.

Let's not kid ourselves gentlemen. Lin is gone. We will not be starting the season with 4 point guards.

Sad day I have to say. We will regret it.

It's called Mike D'Antoni's offense. Look at his career before and after NY.

If the Knicks match Lin, then the $4mil from Felton's 3rd year can cost the Knicks an extra $12-16mil on top of the possible $45mil. I think Lin is a goner.

I have read on the Houston and GB forum that the rockets will pay 8/8/8 per year for Lin while we have to pay 5/5/15

Is there any truth to this?
