Kind of says a lot about you when you put one player above your team. And hope that he does very well on his new team just to spite your team for letting him go... If we had Lin, I think some of you would rather not win a championship with Lin as a 3rd option, and rather lose long as Lin becomes a 3-time MVP.

Lin needs to stay because the Knick team is looking mighty unlikeable right now, and It's going to be difficult to root for them.

Mighty Unlikeable? Which parts don't you like? What if Lin doesn't turn into an all-star this season? Are you going to be happy paying the tax and not being able to get any bench players to help out? (Devil's advocate)

Personally I think they should match Lin (cuz I agree with you), and should have matched fields as well.

Not really. Certainly not the first thing, maybe a little bit the second. But a smart PG makes a lot of things better.

All things equal, sure why wouldn't Lin want to be back in New York... Lord know's people will care a whole lot more about him, play equal, if he's in NY than Houston.

So long as it's the same amount as money as Houston, i'm sure he'd like to be in NY... The whole "he's a winner" thing, however, comes after the $ is matched.

You guys ever hear of Yao Ming? Did he have any problems getting people around the world to care about him even though he was playing in houston? Even in new york there were hundreds of his jerseys at the garden when the rox came to town.

That's not even my point. Hopefully Melo lived up to his statement yesterday and is asking/begging Dolan to keep Lin. And that Dolan wants to and will.

Melo can help and probably cause Dolan to match if he wants it badly enough (whatever that is).

My point is a solid prediction: Melo and mostly Melo, with some Felton, will be miserable at MSG. Fans will take it out on them. And maybe JR too. The whole team. People will be deflated after losing Lin and they will be looking for an enemy. I know this with every cell in my body.

The hatred is going to come crashing down around Melo and mostly Melo. Fans were already booing him early last season when they felt he was holding the ball too much. Now with the "ridiculous" comment and the sheer depression of losing such a fun-to-watch story like Lin ...

Melo is going to pay ... and pay big.

Bad prediction. Melo's time here will be a hell of a lot less "miserable" without the drama of Lin around, if you have to look at it that way. The fans won't boo any more than they would if Lin were here if they are losing. You're exaggerating for affect the impact of Lin leaving, while trying to tie it into an inverse relationship with the view of Melo - and it's not there.

Melo will have more "pressure" to lead the team by people who somehow think since James won it's "his time" than bc Lin went to Houston and the Knicks didn't match.
