I guess, the Knicks are STILL going ahead with the quasi-triangle because DJ Jazzy Jeff's offense needed 3 of the best point guards/playmakers: Bledsoe, Thomas, Dragic in order to work.

As it stands, the Knicks have Baker, Nicotine, and Lee as "possible" starting point guards?

Lee has never played PG in his 9 seasons.

lol at blaming phil. we've been **** the bed before phil, shat in it with phil, and we will **** the bed after phil.

He's not blaming Phil. He's positing that maybe Mills is not stupid at all. Maybe he wants in the Phil Jackson blueprint of doing a horrible job so that you can be fired and collect all your money.

I think I'd be more excited about THJr if we drafted Dennis Smith Jr. because he fits the ideal of a Hornacek PG to the tee.

Baker has trouble bringing up the ball. Frank has a loose handle, and we have no idea if we can even actually even be an NBA PG. He might actually be an NBA SG, which is Hardaway's position. As for Chasson Randle, if you've watched any summer league highlights, then I don't have to explain this to you.

I guess I don't understand why we blew all of our cap space plus a trade kicker on an SG when we already have a starting SG, whom everyone seems to think we'll magically get a 1st round pick for now...and when our front office and coaching situation isn't settled yet. I don't really know what the rush was. You can always get another Tim Hardaway Jr. next summer and give him $70M then. Or perhaps our new hire wants to use our space for the next 4 years differently. But it just makes more sense to me to hire the new President first, get a plan in place and let him execute it.

Or - wait for it - Mills really sucks at his job.

Has been around for the Isiah and Phil regime and lasted one season as Knicks GM where his grand move was re-signed Cole Aldrich. It's clear he is associated with failure and is himself a failure at his position.

THjr can make as many or more plays than C Lee. THjr got the assist numbers this past season to back it up.

C Lee is a 10 ppg, 3 rpg, 2 apg shooting guard.

Based on this past season and where he projects to be, THjr is potentially an 18 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg shooting guard or small forward.

Baker and Ntilikina might get us by at the point. We don't need 3 point guards on the floor at the same time.

The more I think about the deal, the less mad I am at it. Tim has a lot going for him:

1) Prototypical size
2) Young
3) Athletic
4) Very efficient percentages for a 24yo SG (57% TS%) - 19, 4, 3 per 36 minutes
5) He's a very good 2pt shooter. So, if he continues to improve his 3-ball (which isn't crazy given he has a good natural shooting touch), he'll be around the 60% TS% range which is elite for a SG.
6) He seems to be a very hard worker that wants to get better

I give him a 40% chance of fulfilling this contract and 15% chance of exceeding it. It's not awful but it's not a bargain either. He really needs to work on his defense, playmaking, rebounds and assists. The points will be there...especially with increased minutes.

I just can't see it. Both of those young kids are not ready for prime time.

And without 3 ball handlers, Jeff's offense will look much like it did last season but worse because he does not have a clear 1 point guard.

There's a HUGE difference between those very very low risk moves and giving a guy $17+mil a yr for 4 yrs.

After the All Star break he was putting up 17.5 PPG on on 47.1 shooting, 37.3 from 3.
