Ayton is one of the best big men defenders in the league. Rubio plays D. Cam Johnson even surprised me on defense too.

I don't know if i agree here (except for Rubio). But anyway... then you have 3 teams where he would fit. he is really difficult to move

Not sure how you can’t agree on Ayton’s defense at the very least. He was very impressive this season.

Watching Ayton in the bubble I would say he looked like an atrocious defender. He did have some moments early in the season when he came back from his suspension and looked fresher than most players but I wouldn't call him one of the best defensive bigs in the league, not even close especially considering his 30 game sample size all year. Dude looked extra soft in the bubble.

Suns had the 3rd best defense in the bubble. Not sure how you can be atrocious at the last line of defense but yet have a top 3 defense. He looked softish on offense though. Was trying to be more of a play maker instead of a dominant force like he was for majority of the season.

Suns played some really good pesky perimeter defense in the bubble, I'm not giving the credit to Ayton when it was Rubio, Mikal, Carter, Payne and those guys who applied pressure and did the work. Ayton was getting killed by every opposing big he got matched up with and just overall looked soft.

He’s a below average defender. It’s clear when you just watch.. and they cost themselves as future championship contenders by not selecting Luka. Why we talking about this guy in here?

And then WB, Love and Wall suffer career-ending Achilles injurys at the end of the season.

We end the season with a Dennis Smith Jr, Bullock, Iggy, Knox and MKG starting team. We lose all games. But we can only get the #10 pick.

Yeah I see a below average defender in Ayton but I'm not sure how a Booker and Doncic pairing would work honestly. Both are extremely high usage on the ball players and one of them would have to take a backseat to the other to make it work and neither of them are anything close to good defenders so idk how that would work. They might be getting in eachothers way honestly. I think Ayton is a good young player but he's nowhere close to being this dominant big, he's skilled and talented but at the same time pretty soft.

CoreyVillains wrote:Hey dudes, hope all is well! We're finally getting close to the draft! Sorry if this is a bit self-promotey, but it's Knicks draft focused so I thought I'd drop it in if any wants to listen to about 30 minutes of Knicks draft talk. Alan Hahn was nice enough to invite me to sit down with him and chat about the draft. Great dude and it was a lot of fun.

And as always, if you want to do some in depth video research on the draft you can spend a bunch of time on my Draft playlist studying up on over 20 prospects!

Hey Corey. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate how you do a voice over to explain each play as it's executed in the video. It's much different than other draft videos that simply list a strength at the bottom of the video or otherwise use text explanations. The combination of video and voice allows me to really focus on the play and what you want the viewer to see.

The only thing I'd recommend is highlighting the player when you're showing a defensive play. On offense, you can easily just look at the player with the ball, but on defense, that's not always, and often not, the case. Thanks for all of the work regardless!

All stats and footage shows that he’s been great on defense. Mike Schmitz even wrote a whole article on his defense this season. It’s been that good. Y’all just hating

Yeah KP destroyed him but I also remember Ivica Zubac was killing him in that game when Booker had to take over in the clutch.

He's not terrible as a player but he might be extremely overrated on this board. I see way too many posts about him being brought up in basically every thread and that's where you start reaching that overrated territory. He's a solid young big because of his offensive skills, even if he is soft, but some really feel he's the next Shaq?
