Lowkey if you pay attention to the trade the knicks have done. They haven't tried to rob anyone nor be robbed by anyone. I think its created a situation where teams will work with them to get a fair deal.

This is different than before Leon when teams prided themselves on robbing the knicks. Ainge keeps trying but Ainge's whole philosophy is to wait for the home runs.

So the reporter mentioned that Embiid named his son after his brother the died in a car accident and that’s worth assaulting him? You’re nuts if you think that’s justified.

Glad we didn’t trade for him. Can’t handle the smoke. Imagine if this was Randle attacking some reporter nobody would come to his defense they’d just say he’s a mental case beating up reporters. F Embiid. Injured Mitch for this. Get in here sham.

His brother was 13, a child, it's not that hard to leave family out of sports discussion. Whether or not it's justified, he had it coming.

There's a pattern with Embiid. This guy is as reckless as Draymond.

With that, the reporter was out of line.

That was some humanizing details that explains Embiid’s motivations to be great. Clearly it’s something Embiid has brought up before too. That’s insane you think the reporter had it coming. If I found this info out before he attacked someone over it, I would have gained some respect for this scumbag. He needs to suspended and possibly arrested for assault.

Write a hit piece about an athlete and be surprised that they take exception to their dead brother being used as a negative point. I live by a simple code, I don't say things about peoples dead relatives because I believe it could get me punched in the face, whether justified or not. And guess what? Nobody has punched me in the face.

Check the comments, it's not just me, once people found out the why behind the assault it's basically split down the middle.

civility isn't on the menu when you use someone's grief in a hit piece.

A lot of people live in a world where they think freedom of speech means you're free from the consequences of how someone may react to those words

If no one’s punched you in the face you’re really missing out on important life event  explaining what drives a player is important information, even if it’s in an article that critical about him. Like I said in the last post, I would have found in endearing if this became common knowledge some other way and not after an assault. It wasn’t an attack on his family but the standard that Embiid has set for himself. Embiid’s inability to stay in shape or be healthy is a major issue and it’s holding him back from being truly great. It sounds like another reporter in the locker room said the guy that wrote this article apologized when they were yelling at each and Embiid still attacked him.

that and sports really does bring out the worst in us. i know these are famous people and that operate in a different realm. but imagine a boss or coworker using your grief to question your work ethic and THEN others justifying it. it's all absurd. and to act as if embiid shouldn't lose his sht over questioning his work ethic using his dead brother and son is wild.

and I know they say violence isn't the answer but sometimes it actually is. people should fear consequences.

Yeah, that's an overreaction.

The reporter only (briefly) listed a fact about the name of the son and brother. He didn't say anything disrespectful at all, because THAT would have been crossing the line.

Now, Embiid has set himself up for a lawsuit over nothing.
