Re: [Camelo Thread] - Update: He's Pushing for NYK! Part 5
I believe that there is some chance, who knows what it is, that Melo will extend with the Nets. However, saying "I'll deal with that when it comes" after saying "I don't know" two times, is not the word choice of someone who truly *wants* to play for the Nets. Saying he doesn't know twice is very close to no as far as subtext.
Also saying that he will **"deal"** with it means it is something that he does not want to have to address. You don't use the words "deal with," generally, something that is good or welcome. You deal with problems. (I feel he is probably thinking: I don't want to offend Jay-Z and I don't want to go to the Nets but I *might* have no other choice.)
Body language (which we obviously didn't see) and word choice are very often indicators of mindset.

Carmelo is like that guy at the bar that doesn't want to go home alone. He has his eye on someone but he doesn't want to reject the one he has in the bag in case it doesn't work out with the one he wants to take home. -Jitpal

There is no need to put Fields and the whole roster on the market. Denver is the one is dilemma. We aren't.
What is their dilemma again? "Should we keep Melo and make a run at the playoffs or should we trade for players that we don't want and NY does not even offer (according to your suggestion)?" What gives? What is the incentive? Don't you realize how stupid what you suggest? Denver needs to deal with us so we will offer them no players that they may even be remotely interested is such a stupid logic.
we know they like draft picks. we can get one for ar. so we can probably get one for fields and one for gallo too. or you involve a 3rd team. there's ways to make it appealing to denver.

Exactly...and the Nets are the fat ugly chick while the Knicks are the 10.

and the momentum will shift back to us and will shift back to the Nets all the way to the trade deadline. Bottom line: Stop worrying about these articles and trust Donnie Walsh knows what he is doing.

Well, I was answering they guy who thought we should not submit to Denver's demands. What you suggest is an AR/Gallo/Fields package which I think is submission according to the poster's suggestion.
Having said that, I agree it will take a third team and some decent amount of young players to make the deal.

I really really really did not like the comment he made about the extension.

Never underestimate the strength of knowledge.
Bring back the physical game and send the softies home.

He is made it twice. When he was here last weekend, he said that his extension would be the first thing taken care of in a trade by trade deadline. I've been wary ever since, it's a big change from his statement at the beginning of the season that he would wait until the offseason to decide what to do. It's not even a subtle change, he is straight out stating this.
