Cheap centers like iHart this past season helped us get the #2 seed after Mitch went down... without iHart we would probably have lost to Sixers in 1st rd, the offensive reb, the pass to OG that led to the Divo 3 pointer, then the game sealing block on Maxey, we would have lost Game 2 without him.

Cheap/ complementary players like Derrick White, Al Horford are a big reason why teams win championships. When we ALREADY have stars like JB and Randle, we don't go for another star, this is not 2K or fantasy team, "let's put together a team of as many as 25ppg players and we'll win the chip!!!" See Phoenix Suns exhibit.

al horford is a 5x all star. what are you even talking about
and derrick white just got paid like $120 million

Didn't know he was still an All Star last year...

Derrick and iHart played themselves from role players into starters money... NBA's new TV and marketing deals skyrocket the salary the $25-30 mil/ year money is like $10-12 mil 20 years ago...

You really wanna put Ayton on this team ?? That's laughable he's a 20-10 guy on a few teams, but he can't pass... talented but just don't fit... he would be benched so quick by Thibs cuz he insists on getting 20 but can't pass to cutters or kick out to shooters... remember we all wanted the super talented Dukies coming out of college: Zion, RJ and Cam??? But apparently it's the Nova ROLE/ CHEAP players are what we need, this is no 2K, like arrow always says be better man !!!!!!!

lol I still want Cam to succeed cuz I spent a few Ks on his rookie cards I wanna at least break even

I was the 2K guy until the Nova boyz saved and showed me the real path to a championship, looks like you might still be in 2K hellhole partying with Booker, KD, Beal and Ayton, save and rebirth yourself

Hartenstein's agents, Aaron Mintz and Andrew Morrison of CAA Sports.

So the Knicks knew! This mean they have to have a plan B lined up...

I'm equally annoyed about some of you suggesting goga as an option and believing it was a reality until I found out we had 5m. You can't buy sht in this economy for 5m.

Wiseman is prolly what we can get for 5m. And tbh, I'd be okay with it. But not for basketball reasons. He sucks. But it would be one of the highlights of the season to watch one of melos favs be the worst player on the knicks. And to constantly give him sht about it. And I wouldn't have to watch sims try to play basketball.

the only thought was that he would take a less knowing that eventually he would start a lot of games with a really good team because Mitch will get hurt...and he could showcase himself for a bigger payday. He is kinda buried on the magic rotation...they didn't even use him in the playoffs.

There are no centers left on the FA market that could potentially start, it's going to have to be a trade to get that guy. Even Mo Bamba just got signed by the Clippers, we're in a really bad spot right now. You can love Mitch all you want but anyone with any sense should know that his backup needs to be able to start because durability is a very real problem for him.

There's a very small number of guys out there that fit Thibs mold, it's basically Kessler and Richards. He wants rim protection and rebounding above everything else.

Turning down 8m for 5m and with the difference in FL to NY taxes is a lot. I get the betting on yourself angle and playing time opportunities. But that has to be close to double the income right now.

Well too bad, he is going to have to settle for a ding bat who has pogo sticks.

Fair but if he signed a 1+1 with an opt out...we have seen what we have done with bigs value. if he continues to play 15 mins a game his value won't really improve. You just know mitch will miss games and he would have been getting 30 mins on a lot of nights here...not saying he was going to get the ihart bag...but 3 MM (yes taxes on top of that) might mean nothing if he pulled in 10-12 MM in another year especially with the TV deal coming in.

Usman Garuba might be a nice low risk high reward type signing that we can afford. Biyombo is a free agent and sort of fits the mold of what he wants in a back up. There are a few names, but none that are going to bring forth excitement. At this point we gotta hope that Precious comes back because he might be the best and most realistic option.

We don't need some exciting Center. Mitch is a starter. We need competent depth that can hold down the fort if Mitch is injured or in foul trouble.
