TKF don't let these cats get you flustered. It is what it is my friend.(Melo Situation) No matter how we feel in the end bleed Orange & Blue partner...

but that is the frustrating, I will always be a diehard knick, and will always be subject to having to deal with idiot owners and guys like isiah hanging around.... sometimes, I envy those franchises that just keep quiet and go about their business in a normal way.. haha..

KnicksGod,

In response to your Asola painting the Dolan/Thomas picture.... I share similar views.... As one of his tweets mentioned, Dolan puts the team plans/negotiations/how we run/what players etc etc in Donnies hands....but when it comes to whoo-ing the players, and getting them to join the force - he perhaps feels more confident in having the former great player (not to be confused with gm or coach) around....... it worked on Amare, did it not? So long as that's all he is used for, and Donnie is ultimately pulling the major strings, I don't have a huge problem.

With Melo and Amar'e, we go no further than the 2nd Round, unless we somehow run into Orlando, where we have a punchers chance at beating them in 7. MAYBE. So, if everything goes right, our ceiling, this year, is definitely the ECF. Which is a HUGE leap from being a perennial piss pot for the entire NBA.

He is. He changes games on the defensive end in a way no other player in the league can.

He took a very mediocre team to the Finals without being a dominant scorer.

The deal as reported is a steal in my mind. We are not keeping Chandler if we sign Melo as a FA and Gallo is solid but this is Carmello do not see the negitive side i would be open to hear why it would be bad

Barkleys an idiot, he was praising the Arenas/Hedo deal the magic made.

The deal that made them a better team?

if you mean trading for an out of shape Arenas with horrible knees and a worse contract than Rashards as their backup PG, an out of shape unmotivated Hedo Turkoglu whos been playing awful and not playing any defense at all and Jrich a guy who has never been a winner in his life, then yeah, I guess so.

yeah, but on how many shots.

What scares me is what Gallo can become with a coach who will use his talents correctly for the betterment of the team vs a coach that uses the team's style to fit the player.

carmelo still shoots 45% from the field and 83% from the line that is pretty effecient. also what people aren't taken into consideration in 4th qtr scoring where melo is one of the best finishers in the league and can make shots late when the defense intensity rises. Gallo right is too streaky to make a big enough impact late in playoff games

I got no problem trading Gallo and Chandler for Melo. Gallo's inconsistency and disappearing acts have me frustrated with him. No doubt Melo is an elite finisher which any team needs in order to compete at a high level.

But Gallo as a 6th man has me salivating. Probably getting 32 mpg playing the 2,3 and some 4. I don't think Gallo will ever be the scorer that Melo is, but I believe Gallo can be a player that can make his teammates better (a la Fields) and this is an important piece of the puzzle for any championship caliber team. Having Gallo AND Melo would be awesome and if I was GM I just might play a game of chicken with Denver on Gallo not being part of the trade. There still is a possibility that Melo still wants NY only, and if the trade deadline passes he will become a FA. Melo ain't giving up $50 mil like someone said. If they adjust the CBA down he may lose $6 mil or so off his new contract. While that's not chicken feed, it certainly shouldn't be a deal breaker if he really wants NY (se Lebron and Bosh). Dolan would take care of him in other ways to compensate outside of the rules anyway ...... let's be serious.

funny, because now I am being accused of having a meltdown.. rofl... I give up..NY will never, ever, learn..

TKF, relax man. Don't worry, these haters don't know you or anything about you. I agree with everything you have said. We are giving up too much. We are caving...let's hope Denver doesn't want it.

Gallo this, Gallo that.

I feel like I'm the only one who's more upset at losing Felton in this deal than Gallo or Chandler. Sure Billups is a decent stopgap, but 2012 is a pipedream. If people didn't have this absurd notion that we can chase after Paul/Deron next, despite having Melo/Amar'e take up 75% of the cap, they'd realize that we need Felton post-trade more than Gallo.

We could probably beat Chicago, Orlando, or Atlanta but get bounced by Boston or Miami this year. Next year, with some pieces added, a top 4 seed in the east and a potential ECF appearance.

I have been trying to stay away from the board today but still couldn't resist reading a little. Everybody needs to relax, be patient and deal with whatever happens. It isn't the end of the world if we get Melo and it isn't the end of the world if someone else does. I trust Walsh and what he thinks is important for a basketball team to win in this league. Calm down and cheer for whoever we have after the trade deadline. And stop getting caught up in all there predictions, I don't understand why people feel the urge to make fools out of themselves and pretend like they know more than everyone else.

I'm talking about the ones WISHING that we get worse because we (possibly) traded someone. You know the poster.

I'm not happy about this trade, either. But God, I NEVER want to hear some of these guys complaining about the behavior of other posters ever again.

We aren't getting past Chicago and Orlando with no bench
