Just realized you got Brandon Roy. You got the sleeper pick of the whole draft.

i got my favorite player :D

i really like him on my team too. he at vasquez are play making 2 guards, and Roy, although won't be playing into his 30's, is still going to be a good player come this season.

From what has been said Roy has looked pretty darn good by those that have watched him recently.

Started for the Bulls last year (ahead of Ronnie Brewer) and did very well when healthy. I initially targeted him as offense off the bench, but then realized he'd be better in my starting unit cause he can play off of my big scorers.

moocow007 wrote:Salmons' a real good pick for you Willy. Fits well with the team. He shoots well and he's a solid passer for a SG. Contracts a bit hairy but not too too bad. On a winning team, in a starting role he should be able to get back to close to where he used to be.

Thanks, I kinda knew due to his contract he'd likely scare people off but in real life, that Kings team is a bad place for him as he avg'd 14/3/3 1stl and 1 3pter in Milwaukee as a starter next to Jennings.

He's always been a versatile player, can defend, handle the ball, even make plays and that's exactly what I expect him to do here.

Now I can bring JR Smith off the bench for a scoring spark.

Not surprised at all. If Roy had knees he would be the next great SG.

whether he's the same guy he was when he left or not, i don't know.

but to get as much money as he is getting, that's a good indication that he's not worthless and can still produce well.

i read an interview with him somewhere. i think he's going to be just fine. he's actually aiming to take the starting job from whoever has it. Roy is going to be just fine. to come off the bench for 15-20 mpg for me? gonna be great.

He also was never an injury prone player.. played 71 games or more 9 out of his first 10 seasons. Over the last 4 seasons he's missed some time, but keep in mind 2 years ago his time missed was due to a dispute with his coach, not injuries. He's really only missed 15+ games due to injury twice in his 14 year career (last year, and 09-10).

With that said, he's obviously older, more prone to injury as a result, and on the decline. Still a starting caliber player though, started for the Bulls last year. Much closer to a 5th round talent than an 11th round talent. Like I said, I'd take him over Ray Allen at this point (matter of preference) and Ray went 1st pick of 5th round.

I disagree that hes a starting caliber player though. The Bulls had a serious SG problem if you remember correctly. They were starting Keith Bogans. They had to get someone (anyone) to fill that need.

Rip is better off in a slower offense. His game is built around running around screens and getting into position for open jumpers. Rose is a punch the tempo kinda PG and is very ball dominant/is constantly attacking.

Look at his last two years in Detroit. When he was playing with Chauncy for a year and a half of it. Hes an 18ppg and 14ppg player only 2 seasons ago, in a more pass oriented offense. You put him on a team with Dirk Nowitzki and he becomes way more useful.

He was also injured alot last season and it was a lock out. Im not putting too much stock into that. Rip, when healthy, is probably one of the most in shape athletes in the NBA. There is no way his "age" is affecting him. I think Rip can play another 3-4 years easy.

Rip is a steal at this point.

I would look to move Harris for a more defensively strong 2/3 if you want to start Udrih at PG. I'd start Felton TBQH since Felton doesn't seem like he plays well if not put in a primary role (see last season with both Denver and Portland). If you start Felton then I'd keep Harris (as the backup 1/2) and look to move Udrih since Harris is more offensively enabled and can better handle both guard positions.

Do you guys think my team can contend?

This is my 1st bat I had a few hiccups early in the draft.

and the thing about his disease is that it's a lot like what i have. his knees are fine now, they're just SLOWLY getting worse and worse. obviously if his knees were 100% like a lot of other players, he'd be one of the top 3 SG in the league. but in 5 years, he probably won't still be around, or at the worst, he'll be "a particular player that is still in the NBA, had knee problems, and once played for the knicks"

two huge question marks.. Dwights health and Jeremy lamb's transition. Can swing you from lottery to championship.

Actually thats exactly my plan - trade Udrih, start Felton and bring Harris off bench at 1/2.

Roy is a beast, he can't play like that every game. I really wanna see how him and rubio play together because usually roy is the only one that can drive to the rim and make plays.

but that video is exactly what i'm talking about. right now, his knees are essentially fine. it's just in the long run, they're not looking too pretty.

the Regenokine treatment he had will keep him at a high level for the next 2-4 years.

I like your team, doing well for your 1st BAT (and yeah those hiccups early kinda hurt). But yeah, I agree with LJ...going to be a lot of pressure on Lamb to be able to produce as a starter and a top 2-3 option offensively. A long season and playoffs are rarely easy on rookies. But not bad at all. You probably would have been well off with either Hamilton or Salmons to provide Lamb some veteran tutelage and to help better carry the load overall offensively (both guys are more offensively diverse and potent than Belinelli IMO even if they are older).

Even with the few hiccups, your team is still a contender. Luckily those few hiccups are still good rotation players, and you got some nice pieces to drop for you as well.

Good job on you first bat, so far. Just dont make any stupid trades to mess that up....lol
