Well these moves would definitely not have taken place if Donald Sterling was still the owner of the Clippers. What we are witnessing in plain sight is that having a piece of crap owner like Dolan is the biggest detriment that an NBA franchise can experience.

nah. they're a playoff team still. unless they dismantle it.

They're pretty fringe. They have a lot of good guys, but they're either old and declining (Lowry, Gasol, Ibaka) or young but not good enough to carry a team (VanVleet, Siakam, Anunoby, Powell)

The good news for them is their big contracts all expire this year so they'll have cap space for next year. The bad news is they're still the Raptors

But they got a ring out of it, so it was probably worth it

if detroit and the magic were playoff teams they can be. kawhi missed like 25 games and their record was slightly better. they're not a contender anymore but the east is weak as hell. they just have to be .500

Poor job by Dolan, Mills and Perry.

You think Kristaps has that pull around the league?

I don't know how true it is but there are reports out there that KD was discouraged when KP was traded from the Knicks.

Jason Williams made a correction to his previous silly statement.

As a Knick fan I’m not throwing that stone in our glass Mecca

I don't think anyone saw KP as a superstar... just a talented young player with a lot of question marks, even before the injury.

They didn't need to sign superstars. Not in love with any of the major signings, Nets included. I still think the only team that struck gold was the Clips... The PG / Kawhi tandem is going to wreak havoc on the league.

I'd certainly go after Steven Adams. His deal lines up perfectly with the Knicks plans.

I get the Lebron hate and all but Lebron is by far and away the best player of his era stop it.

fair enough...but assuming this logic...someone gets fired right if that is indeed the case? We built flexibility but they signed a bunch of vets to show progress and win...if we win less that 30 games (thats my over/under) someone gotta take the fall or are we going to sell we improved from 17 wins

30 wins would be an improvement. Nobody is getting fired for that.

don't know but people don't want to go there. the mavs have had cap space a bunch of times after they won the championship and nobody would even join dirk in his prime. they always end up signing someone to a bad deal because that's all they can get.

It would be typical for the Knicks to trade RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox and 3 future number 1's for Russell Westbrook.

I’m surprised more people on this board aren’t saying we should trade for him and three of those picks.

Nearly doubling your win total... still get another (hopefully) high draft pick... we’re more likely to give out lifetime contracts and raise season tickets 2X, than we are to fire anyone with that

Yeah, I know, but I thought its because everyone thought Dirk is already old and doesn't have much left in him.
