even if he isn't, trust me, Pop knows exactly how to defend an Asstoni coached team. He's been sonning him for years. Even if Kobe was playing, they couldn't win this series. LA is horrible on the road as well.

Noah is day to day with plantar fascitis. Might not play in the series, according to Thibs.

Nyets might have caught a break there.

even if Noah was playing, I still like the Nets in that series. Chicago couldn't even beat Philly last year without Rose, and they didn'tt have half as much scoring punch as BK does.

Roll your eyes as much as you want, but flopping has decreased.

I'd still like to see immediate consequences for obvious flops that refs see. That would really cut it back.

While good in theory, it may do more harm that good. DO we really want more whistles blown? NBA needs to just ramp up the fines.

Monta Ellis certainly has a way with words...

"Chris Mullin, he had my back 100 percent," Ellis says. "And they jerked him off. Then when they jerked him off because he was sticking up for me as being a guy who made a mistake or a young man who made a mistake, when they did that to him, I was totally off the organization then. There wasn't nothing I could do then, because who could I trust? The people that I could trust in the organization, you had just sent them away. It was a dark cloud from then on with the owner in that organization there."

How much do you trust the discretion of refs to determine what an obvious flop is though, and where do you draw the line? What if you have two "obvious flops" and one is called while another isn't? (BTW I don't like flopping either, I'm just not sure that is a good solution)

The Sixers are bragging that they would make the deal for Bynum all over again? Stop it...

OJ Mayo to opt out, Knicks don't get this bum!

lol goodness. He thinks that getting jerked off means getting fired? Yikes.

Speaking of Ellis, what's gonna happen to him next year?

I have a question for people who think they know a thing or two about managing a team. If you were the GM of a team that wasn't contending, how would you build your team into a contender? Is the best method to tank for years in the hopes of getting a high draft pick and a superstar (the OKC model)? Or should you stockpile assets and hope for a big trade (the Rockets Model)? Or is there another way?

On a similar note, is there any hope for Raptors fans? They seem like such a loyal fanbase, but they keep getting disappointed. How should they build a contender?

I'd tank completely okc style, get draft picks, flip assets into more picks, and roll from there.

The rockets model is contingent on whether they get a second star or not. Lin doesn't count
