Honestly, fans are shortsighted and only care about what have you done for me lately. Across their careers both Felton and Lowry have put up about the same stats considering usage and minutes. I think folks still have the image of Lowry when he had that crazy run with the Rockets 3 years ago. Oddly, they seem to have forgotten the Felton that had an even better run with the Knicks at around the same time.

Was already subject to a pick swap.

Right, but the pick could still be protected even if Denver swaps 2016 picks. Say NY's 2016 1st rounder is #18 and Denver's is #19, NY could still have applied top 20 protection on the pick, allowing them to retain it.

Are you sure that's possible? How in the world could you apply protection to a pick you don't even own (e.g. your hypothetical above as Denver would obviously exercise the swap).

How the hell is that fair for a rental? Getting raped is one thing, liking it is another.

What is it about Ujiri that the Knicks can't stay away from/bend over for? Is it the accent?

Woj says Felton MWP 2018 First for Lowry. Others have disputed this. Seems as though assets possibly on table are Shump, THJR, or 2018 First with Toronto wanting two of the three.

Are you trying to say that this isn't an upgrade but a lateral move?

It looks like

Lowry for Felton, MWP, 2018 1st, potential protection or swap.
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

We would almost certainly re-sign Lowry.

Knicks don't want to burn first-rounder for Kyle Lowry and naturally prefer to keep Hardaway Jr. + save Shumpert (for another deal). But Toronto insisting on a first since proposed trade not only sends Lowry to NYK but sticks Raps w/Felton's longer-term $. Let's see who bends

And at last report, Toronto was said to be seeking TWO of the following three: Shumpert, Hardaway Jr., Future First. A bit pricey, I'd say

It's not fair IMO. Better be some healthy protection on that 2018 1st.

Shump THJ and all our picks for the rest of eternity for Landry Fields.

Knicks are strongly considering it.

2015 pick swap pr any other year pick swap isn't happening if it;s only Felton in the deal, it'd mean that they are basically trading for Felton, and no other guarantee

You knicks fans are so funny. At the beginning of the season, i came here and said that your team will not win 54 games again because your team is injury prone and many people replied by calling me an idiot. Now you guys want kyle lowry; a shoot first point guard playing next to carmelo (one of the biggest ball stoppers), he is also injury prone and honestly, he won't win you guys many games. Just let carmelo go, wait until stademire's contract expires, and restart from the ground up and stop giving away your picks. This team was flawed from the beginning and now you guys just want to delay the inevitable.

Haha this is great  I like the deals for both sides. Hopefully it will help you guys get out of the mess you're in. Lowry has been great for the raps this year, I'd hate to see him go but he'll get a big contract next year and don't fit into our plans.

I think it's going to be a big trade with more players involved because I'm quite sure Masai wants at least a 1st rounder or Shump and Hardaway jr. So we'll have to add more players to the deal. I hope we don't have to toss in Amir.

PG market is weak we could get Lowry for 5-6M long term

I bet if this goes down where we give up Felton, Shump, Hardaway and a pick, Dolan over-reacts and extends him at Rondo/Parker/Lawson/Evans type numbers - 10-12m per year - Something like 4/44m matching what Tyreke Evans got from New Orleans

There are a bunch of PGs signed to over 8m per in the last few years (Jennings, Teague, Nelson, Lin, Conley). We'll come in higher than that just to justify the haul we gave to get him
